My family goes all the time, we buy the membership and love it. Our kids enjoy the park, and we enjoy the walk. And of course we enjoy the animals, but regardless if you get to see the animals it's a fantastic walk. The staff are all very nice and if you have questions they have answers. We also find all the staff are excellent with children, it's something small, but goes a far way. I 100% recommend the membership, you don't have to wait in line to get it, and I don't feel like I have to make a big day trip to get my money's worth, like I would if I just bought day tickets. We frequently will go and do just a quick lap and not walk the entire thing, especially if the weather suddenly turns. Anyways, I personally think the zoo is great, and I highly recommend it to anyone, even if you don't have kids!
This place should close. What a pathetic overpriced joke of a place. Wanted to bring my friend’s 14 month baby to see some animals. You’re better off hiking for free, you’ll see way more animals there. See attached photos of empty enclosures for reference. First of all the parking situation, why is there no option for an hourly rate? $8.00 for the whole day even though we just showed up for the last hour. Insane. Guy with the brown hair at the front has zero customer service skills, literally sitting at the front admission window doing nothing. Doesn’t say anything as I’m standing there and points his thumb behind his shoulder for me to go to the next window. $33 fee to be disrespected as soon as we arrive? Nice! I hope this zoo goes out of business. Won’t ever come back. Do not waste your time or money here.
The zoo is a great place to go and we were fortunate enough to see a lot of the animals. Sometimes you can go and they are all hiding and sleeping. It will be nice once they have the train working again as well as the bike rentals. However, children are allowed to bring their bikes and scooters and I would recommend this because it is a large area to cover if you have short kid legs. I would love to see a bigger selection of food offering there...even a Triple O's would be good! The line up for the food was quite long and so I would recommend bringing some snacks for the kids in case they get grumpy in the line up, or when you are on the opposite site of the zoo from where the food is. The gift shop had nice things in it and resident peacock was super fun for the kids to follow around. There were probably about 5 empty animal exhibits when we went that are waiting for new animals to come. All in all a great day, and we enjoyed getting to watch the wolves get fed!
The zoo is a great place to visit, rain or shine. It has great paths and is a good walk with lots to see. You are able to bring bikes or scooters as well for the kids. There are lots of different animals to see and each one has an information plaque so you can learn more about them. They have daily talks about the different animals, so there are always opportunities to learn more and ask questions. The bears are my favourite and I love watching them play And at the end, the playground is always a highlight for the kids to play on.
I enjoy zoos and have visited various zoos in multiple countries. This particular visit was a bit disappointing due to the weather. The recently bad weather caused flooding which meant a number of the animals were moved from their exhibits. The train was also down for maintenance. However, the zoo had plenty of space which means animals had larger enclosures. The cooler weather meant that the animals were more active. Personally, I found the grey wolves to be my favorite because we were able to get up fairly close to a pack of wolves. You could see their social interactions with each other and their reactions towards us. The kids liked the red panda exhibit because the two red pandas were eating and climbing. Overall, not the best zoo I've been too, and not a place I'd visit regularly. However, I did enjoy the open space for both the visitors and animals.
Small zoo with a few exotic animals. I like how kids are permitted to scooter or bike around which makes travelling around the zoo a lot more fun and less tiring. My 4 and 7 yr olds were able to traverse the entire zoo without any help or complain which is a huge plus.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
Kids had fun but the animals you barely see em . They are too lazy to move around. Dinosaur place was cool. Train ticket isn’t worth waste of money. But good place to walk around. Got small kids play area and gift shop is really charges a lot of money.Visited onWeekdayWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
Well maintained, beautiful grounds. The animals were phenomenal. Staff are so helpful. Went twice during my two weeks in the area. Love the zoo and can't wait to come back.
The zoo is fun. Unfortunately half the animals. We really wanted to see where either hiding from the heat or sleeping though. My kids had a good time. The dinosaur exhibit was pretty cool!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Wonderful staff and animals! Lots of walking so wear something comfy. Super cute animals, some would be far and napping, so you wouldn’t get a super close look, but other than that, very pleasant. Love the capybaras and the red panda!!
