GREAT CANADIAN THEATRE COMPANY MANDATE
"To foster, produce and promote excellent theatre that provokes examination of Canadian life and our place in the world."

GCTC is committed to the production of new Canadian work through our play development program. Each season we commission emerging and established playwrights and workshop new plays. We also operate The Playwrights' Unit, which gives playwrights the opportunity to work with a dramaturg during the development process of their piece.

GCTC is a large employer of theatre artists from artistic and technical to administrative in the Ottawa area. We remain committed to the production of challenging Canadian theatre, and have become a base of support for emerging and smaller theatre organizations.

It was a solo date but I had a great time at the theater despite the fact that I was watching Kiinalik: these sharp tools which was a little terrifying but overall my experience at the GCTC was great. I recommend.
The Theater is awesome. We came here to see my niece's exhibit. The place is clean and tidy.
This is an intimate performance space with terrific acoustics and comfortable seating. In general, the choice of plays is interesting and the actors are superb. Over the past 35 years, I have been entertained and provoked but rarely bored.
The Great Canadian Theatre Company offers a wonderful experience for their audience. The offer a variety of plays throughout each season that are suitable for any audience. The atmosphere is inviting and makes for an interesting experience. GCTC donates generously to many of the charities I volunteer for throughout the city.
I got a backstage view of the place, the fact they can put up such great shows with so little space to work with is amazing
We just saw Bang Bang at the GCTC and we highly recommend it. Although it is about a serious subject, there is actually a lot of humour in it. The audience gave it a well-deserved standing ovation.
Just the most wonderful experience and showing the greatest plays with powerful people behind them. Wish I could go next month to see Kiinalik: These Sharp Tools.
Create plays that always entertain. The facility and location is excellent in the heart of Hintonburg/Wesrboro. An annual subscription is well worth it!
