This was truly one of the best experiences my wife and I have had at a Italian restaurant anywhere. Jason our waiter was patient and just one of best I have seen at selling the best dish and putting the taste in your mouth before it even arrived to our table. All four adults in our party loved our dishes, service and ambience of the little restaurant. Will definitely go back there and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a divine Italian dinner and with good prices as well!
Great food, great atmosphere and the best part was the service. Jason our very professional yet personable server made the dining experience go from 4 to 5 stars. He was patient and accommodating to our table and especially my very difficult-to-please Mother. The atmosphere was amazing and all courses were delicious. Everything ordered by our party of four was delicious and the chef provided an experience you could tell was derived from some old family recipes with a touch of creativity. We arrived at just before 8PM and left at 10PM which I might add is an hour after they close. We were never rushed and Jason was again patient and friendly until the end. My wife and I have a new favorite Italian spot in the Tacoma area and we'll be back to try the NY Strip Stroganoff!
After a long hard work day, this restaurant really hit the spot. Three of us enjoyed three different entrees. All the food exceeded our expectations. They have a good, complimentary wine selection. The service was fantastic. This is a locally owned family business, that is worth visiting.
I was hoping to like this place more than I did. Cute little restaurant that seemed like it may be family owned lots of pictures near the door, but I'm not really sure. I had a really friendly waitress and I enjoyed the Italian music playing. Didn't much care for my side salad that came with my meal. I got pasta which they let me do half fettuccine and half pesto. I loved the pesto but was super disappointed with the fettuccine. It didn't have much flavor. My date had a pizza with sausage that tasted really weird. He actually ended up sending it back and didn't really care for the veggie pizza he got to replace it with. I gave this 3 stars because of the friendly service and the pesto but I will probably never go back.
This little Hidden Gem is tucked away on Bridgeport. If you want an elegant and romantic evening this is definitely your spot. With so many Big Chain Italian restaurants it is very refreshing to go to a place that's a little Slice of Italy right here in University Place. I have dined here on several occasions... Everything is superb. Everything from the appetizers, wine list, entrees and desserts- perfect! They have a little hidden Courtyard off the back that is absolutely divine! It's perfect for a larger group- maybe a girls night out or after hours. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. If you have not dined here I highly recommend that you give it a try.
I've honestly never had a worse food experience. Waited over half an hour after being sat, when we finally had to flag somebody down to take our drink or food order....and still had to ask 2 more times for somebody to take our order! Some dishes came out half an hour later, others we were informed the dishes had either been taken accidentally or had been burnt and could not be served, so we had to wait an additional hour for our remaining food to appear. 1 member of our party never even received his food, and only received a to go box upon receiving the check of something he hadn't even ordered. The food was below sub par, and shockingly the service was even worse. Avoid this place. Unless you feel like testing your patience, Avoid This Place.
We came here for a family meal this past Saturday night 3/25. This was the very best Italian food I have ever tasted!! The owners Ken and Kim Grassi are the best! Don't miss out on the sour cream lemon pie as well. I can't wait for my next visit.
I was on a date with my then girlfriend and wanted to take her somewhere nice, she likes Italian food a lot and this place is close to my home. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with salmon. She ordered the same. Hers seemed to be ok and she enjoyed it, but she's and idiot we're not together anymore, but mine was not. The sauce was runny, the consistency of milk almost. I sent it back and when the waiter brought it back to me it was still very runny and i could not eat it. I just ate bread and drank wine. So the date was kinda ruined but no big deal because that chick turned out to be crazy. They did comp me my meal because when the waiter brought me the bill he asked why I hadn't eaten, so that was nice. But still, what can you say about a restaurant that you leave still hungry, 2 thumbs down, that's what.
GRASSI'S is a great place to meet for lunch. They not only have great food, atmosphere, and prices, they also have a conference room that seats 30. My graduating class of 65 meet there every couple months for lunch. We LOVE it there. And our waiter, Jason, is The Best!!!
My family has made a habit of coming here because of both the amazing service and even better food. Like any truly Italian restaurant, this is the place to go when you want to take your time and have a relaxing, delicious meal with friends or family. The menu is small, but you can't go wrong with anything on there my personal favorite is the bolognese, and the wine selection is hand picked, varying depending on vintage. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Tacoma.
