Granville Street sation is one of the busiest besides waterfront and burrard sations in downtown Vancouver. Granville sation is one of the vintage skytrain buildings in dt . It has escalators, elevators, stairs, convenient shop . Lots of businesses, residential, restaurants, hotels, Granville entertainment district around this sation, local busses stops around here , granville station has connections to waterfront and eastward to east van/ Burnaby/ surrey
I visited the CIBC Coquitlam Centre branch today at around 11:25 a.m. and had an excellent experience. Haya at the front reception/help desk was incredibly friendly, patient, and professional. She took the time to answer my questions and helped me with my banking needs. Her kindness and outstanding customer service made my visit easy and stress-free. Thank you, Haya, for your help and professionalism. CIBC is fortunate to have such a dedicated employee
For a skytrain station its pretty decent considering its right in the heart of downtown. Doesn't smell terrible on most days. Wouldn't want to spend the afternoon hanging out here though. Long escalator is kinda neat.nnWould not make the top 50 in TripAdvisor.
The transit system in Vancouver is ok. Good buses and trains although disappointing a day pass doesnt work on both systems. We were a little new to the Vancouver transit system with fares. We didnt need day pass so thought we would just get a single ticket to the outlet mall there and then get a single ticket back. That was cheaper than an all day pass. NO. If you try and buy a single fare ticket from the outlet, you will be slugged $5 on top. Its not very clear catching a train from downtown that this would happen.
On February 14, 2026, at approximately 8:30 PM, my wife and I exited Granville SkyTrain Station and walked toward Granville Street. We purchased food from a shawarma truck located directly outside the station and sat at the L-shaped table beside the truck to eat.nnWhile we were eating, an elderly woman wearing a mask approached and asked if she could sit. There was some space available, so I agreed. My wife was seated with her back toward the woman, facing me, while I was facing both my wife and the woman. My wife’s cellphone was placed on the table between us.nnAfter finishing our meal, we disposed of our garbage and began walking toward Waterfront. During the walk, I received a phone call, and when my wife reached for her phone, she realized it was missing. Using Google tracking, we located the device near East Hastings Street. This was our first time in that area, and we felt unsafe due to the environment and activity around us.nnWe followed the phone’s location, which led us to Orange BC Housing, a government shelter. I called 911 to report the incident and was advised that I would receive a callback, which did not occur. While waiting nearby, we saw a police cruiser and approached the officers to explain the situation. They informed us they could not enter the premises without a warrant and advised us to leave the area for our safety and contact them if the phone moved again.nnThe following day, I contacted 911 again when the phone’s location changed, but by then the tracking stopped working. The phone remained active for about three days before it was eventually turned off.nnThis experience serves as a reminder to stay alert and protect personal belongings, especially in busy downtown areas such as Granville and surrounding locations.
