My family and I had such a great experience at Gramma's Pub on Saturday night! Our server Nikki went above and beyond to make our experience great. When we arrived the restaurant was really busy so we sat inside and were told there was going to be 1.5 hour wait on food. That was okay - we were just going to get drinks then which were coming very quickly!. Nikki, our server ended up clearing a table off for us outside and moving us which we were so happy about because the view is great! Then she let us know the food wait was gone so that we were good to order whenever. We ended up staying for quite a white and tried lots of food and drinks. It was also my brothers bday and he ended up getting a free drink and meal which was so sweet! All of my family agreed that we were very happy we ended up there and will definitely visit again!
Fish excellent, Light batter with dill and generous portions! Chips barely so-so - soggy and cold. Worst Ceasar either of us have ever had. Watered down with no flavor. Pricing was on the high side. The view earned it an extra star.
Food: Not great. The fish fritters were good, Caesar salad was average, and the red curry wings were oddly acidic. We also got the clams, which were very small for the price. They ran out of several things on the menu by 6pm before most of dinner service. The service: Our server was lovely, but clearly overworked and doing the best they could. The restaurant had two floors of patios open, as well as an indoor dining space. Guests could enter at two places and there was no host downstairs. Our server was running food up and down the stairs as well as trying to serve the entire lower patio, and manage incoming guests. All in all, our visit was around 2.5 hours and we did spend a lot of that time waiting. Final Thoughts: For the quality & quantity of the food probably not worth the price tag. There is potential for this to be a great spot. The drinks were alright and pretty quick out the door, the view was nice, and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately they were overwhelmed when we visited, resulting in a disappointing experience.
The food was surprisingly good! When I see pub in a name not much is expected. The harbour view was great. My wife loved the wonton soup and my clam fettuccine was delicious.
We called and we were assured that the patio was dog-friendly so we hustled over their. Gramma’s Marine Pub patio is not dog-friendly. Dogs need to be tied up outside the patio and the only available table close by was a small one under an open stairway so our good would have been spiced with anything fall off from pedestrians’ feet as they went up and down the stairs.
Cozy pub and the food was great. Also a fantastic view
Not the trendy find that everyone gravitates to but so worth your time. Pub sign next to the liquor store is deceiving. Entrance to the Pub is around the right side of the liquor store. Definitely has sailor vibes inside the restaurant. Two levels of outdoor patio, top one with heaters, both over looking the harbour and Keats island. Excellent friendly service. We were surrounded by locals who mainly knew the staff. Had the fish tacos and seafood chowder. Both great. Seafood chowder, although a smaller serving—was filling and the best seafood chowder I’ve had. Washrooms are tight and a little run down and that’s the only not amazing thing id say about it.
Cute little pub with a great view and decent pub food. Fried chicken is worth the wait.
Had Fish n chips and the shrimp and lobster roll, extremely tasty.
Gramma's is a timepiece of true Gibsons, it's managed to hold on to that small town marine pub vibe, awesome location, great views. Consistent and reliable with their hours and menu, friendly staff, it's a staple in lower town for locals and visitors alike. I hope it never changes too much
