On 6/19, my partner and I saw Inside Out 2 at 1:40 pm. To preface, I used to work at a GQT theater as a teenager/young adult and was a shift manager, so I know how GQT theaters were run, and what we experienced was unacceptable. We also knew it was a kids movie, and there would be young kids there being young kids, and did not care about how kids acted in a theater.nnWe bought our tickets online and have a golden bucket, so we were going up to buy our refill, drinks, and candy with a GQT gift card. As we are checking out, the cashier tells us our gift card that is brand new is not working because they have a new system and to try again next time we come. That took me off guard a little, but chalked in up to new staff. We paid and went into the theater.nnThe seats of this theater are DISGUSTING, like peeling and off and discolored. Throughout the movie I kept getting the ick of the chair touching my arms and legs. However, most of the movie went well. There was a family sitting near us and their kids were playing but like I said, we didn't really mind and we weren't going to cause a big deal over it. That is until the parent gave their child their phone, brightness fully up and volume on to watch videos and play games. I was irritated, but I know from my past GQT theaters have their ushers do checks in the theaters every 15-30 minutes, so while this is annoying, I'm going to continue watching.nnNo one ever came into the movie theater to do a check. For the last hour of the film, the parent had their child play games and watch videos with sound on. I am a firm believer in I paid for my movie, and it is not my job to go and tell others how to do their jobs, so I did stay and continue watching trying to ignore the disturbance nearby. Like I said, NOT MY JOB, it is theirs to stop this.nnFinally, at the end of the movie, we were told there would be a end credit scene, so my partner and I stayed to watch. Everyone else left, and I knew my from training that ushers should either wait for everyone to be out or start in the back and work towards the front we were 3 rows from the front of the screen in a bigger theater, so they had plenty of other areas to clean. But the two ushers that came in stood directly behind us, not cleaning, but talking about us, how we were still there and how annoying it is when people stay. So we left.nnI would have told the manager on my way out, but he was working with customers in the lobby. I am a faithful GQT movie goer, I loved working their and typically love my experiences there. But this trip to Holland 7 really disappointed us and I don't see us returning to this theater anytime soon. I am also frustrated with GQT because I did write them and was told I'd hear from them and I'm still waiting.
I went to see a movie and I didn’t want to keep watching, so I sat in the lobby until the people I came with were done with the movie. While sitting in the lobby, an older gentleman working looked directly at me, then continued to tell a racist joke to his coworkers and they all laughed. I work in customer service and it was just really uncomfortable for me to see someone openly tell a joke like that with a customer present.
Seats are recliner style and while the mechanism functioned, the covers are worn out. Floors seemed clean and the staff was friendly, rapid and helpful.
Friendly staff and comfy recliner seats! We really appreciate the handicap accessible seats as well. Of course, the popcorn is great as well! Hopefully they keep all the different varieties of popcorn seasoning. We went one time in 2020 and were told they were no longer offering seasoning which was very disappointing but as of May 2021, the seasoning stand was back.
Wonderful place to enjoy a movie with the whole family. We saw the latest Flash movie. The comfortable seats reclining made the experience a joy. The movie was excellent and the clean, comfortable theatre made for a nice afternoon. My Grandson said to give this review a 100 out of 100. Nice.
