Bit of a strange atmosphere, went with my bf and we didn't really feel welcome. They didn't have an alcohol menu we could look at either, ended up ordering a pineapple juice with rum and it was only ok.
Cheap drinks for a drop in night with friends. Open late sometimes, fast service.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. The WORSE service I have ever experienced. Our server looked like she just rolled out of bed - track pants, a crop top, and no bra. We were there for Drag Me To Brunch - A drag show and brunch. There were four of us in our party. Two of our meals came out at once, one of which was wrong. We also did not get any utensils or napkins. The third meal was not brought out until at least 20 minutes later. They completely forgot about the fourth meal. When my friend who was forgotten about finally just asked for toast with butter, that took at least 15 minutes to come out and she was also not provided with utensils or a napkin. When we left at the end of the show there was at least one person who was there for Drag Me To Brunch that still had not received her food. The show was over and the second show was about to begin.
Food was acceptable but nothing fancy. Menu says all burgers have 2 patties but they only have one. When we questioned it the waitress said it was, "Two patties in one. I can see why you'd be confused." We weren't confused. The restaurant is confused about what 1 vs 2 is. Almost knocked it down to 2 stars because we were bombarded with excuses on that one. Debit/credit machine didn't work. Service was slow. Waitress complained a lot. Prices were decent though. Overall I'd say it was ok. Probably won't go back. Wouldn't recommend.
Service was not amazing wrong order, couldn't remember who ordered what within our table despite the rest of the place being empty. Steak had a very salty taste. The wonton nacho however tasted pretty good.
Gordy's has a serious service issue. The waitresses are not the problem; they're fast, friendly, and efficient. They are never staffed with enough people and they don't have a bouncer which has actually led to some pretty dangerous situations. I love the Friday night karaoke, the hostess is a gem and the regulars are lovely. I'm not impressed with the management of Gordy's, I feel the workers there suffer for it.
Joined classmates here on a friday evening. Worst service ever. Waited half an hour for a drink and there was only 1 person serving the entire place. There were only 3 tables being served and I waited half an hour for a drink.. When it came time for our bills to be paid, the guy would come over and leave the debit machine on the table, and come back once every 10min to complete the next transaction. It was very annoying. I definitely will not be going back there again.
The food was disgusting. Fries were totally overcooked, the chicken tasted and smelled old. Super rubbery as if it had been reheated. Our server looked like he hated his job and barely said two words. No napkins or cutlery on the tables, and the big fella that came out from the back had the filthiest look on his face... scary to think he may have cooked my food. Would never ever go back here.
Not bad on the drink prices but the loudness is unbearable. It's a small place, I dont mind loud music but this place is just stupid. You can't even have a conversation with anyone unless you're outside standing with the smokers.
The nachos are fantastic. Short of that, there's nothing good I can say. Firstly, Gordy's not the smartest guy in the world. He was assumed my friend and I were on the same bill and when we asked to split the bill, he sat over at the bar for what I swear was 10 minutes straight, using 2 calculators to split our bill, ended up coming back with the wrong numbers and overcharging us. Quite frankly I didn't care all that much, it was $2 and I just wanted out of there. Secondly, Gordy's kind of like that creepy uncle you have. He goes on and on about how his bar is the biggest and best in London, and how for his comedy nights he brings out the best comics from all over Canada. He invited me to it that night and when I said I'd come he looked like he'd just had his bluff called. One of the 'comics' was a kid from Hamilton who'd be swindled to think it was a bigger bar than it was. The next day I went back and Gordy said one of the comics at the end of the night had gotten into a fight in the parking lot and was arrested. Thirdly, service is terrible. I've waited up to 15 minutes for a simple rum and coke, specifically saying to my friend "how long does it take to make a rum and coke? It's been a long time". Ending thoughts: My roommate once told me she got food poisoning from their chicken nachos, so if you go, get beef nachos, and though it seems like I've been there a bunch of times, I've been there 5 times, because as I began, the nachos are fantastic. Edit: I'd also like to add that I've seen people who were clearly paid to promote promoting them on Facebook, so it's possible some of these reviews were paid by Gordy himself.
