I enjoyed my meal at Gord's. First off, Gord's Caesars are the best Caesars. Prove me wrong, children. Prove me wrong. I had the most delicious, perfectly seasoned one when I went. We had the cheesy bake as an appetizer and it was quite good! Definitely enough for two people to share. As for the chicken wings, which I've heard nothing but good things about, were quite good ! While I wouldn't consider them god-tier wings or anything, the serving size, the price and the overall taste is well worth your visit then again, the Caesar alone is worth the visit!
We found this place on Google as we were in the area. The place is huge and so is the patio. My wife had the steak with fries and veggies and I had the meatloaf with garlic mashed and veggies. Both were excellent and the veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. Lots of specials through the week, although the regular prices are very decent. The drink menu is very good too. The service was great and we didn't wait long, but it was not very busy as it was Monday afternoon. We will be back for sure as there was a lot on the menu that I want to try.
Went to Gord’s for trivia night. It was a lot of fun!! However, at that point the service was slow and the food was mediocre. I think it would be best to go on another night to judge the service and food quality.
went there one night...it was really nice they have an area to dance and areas to sit down and relax. the music was pretty good they played all the popular stuff that's on the radio
This review is based on the food solely, know that when you read it. The staff are great and the atmosphere is great as well. It's a really good place to get a drink and hang out. The trivia nights are awesome with really good drink specials. However, aside from the Thursday wing special the food really needs to improve, honestly. Everything is made well but the value is not good for the price. I have eaten here several times and have felt this way. The prices are far too high for what you get when applied to some of the menu offerings, the nachos being one example. This review will not keep me from visiting Gords, just from ordering food on future visits.
Good place for a large group and the late night scene seems to be picking up. Food is good but unremarkable. Service has hopefully improved since my last visit. I tried to order chicken wings and it took 3 tries for them to get it right. I mean that is a staple bar dish. If you can't deep fry chicken parts and then add sauce you need some help I the kitchen.
Just moved to St Catharines and was on the search for a new 'regular spot' with my husband. Tried Gord's Place last night and loved it! Not sure why the reviews are mediocre because everything was positive and I'm someone who is hard to please and will always leave a negative review if it is deserved. This is not one of those times as I have nothing bad to say! Daisy, our server was incredibly friendly, efficient and all round wonderful. Within 1 min of ordering our drink we had it on the table. Food was on the table faster than lightning and was delicious! Friendly people, nice atmosphere, FABULOUS Margaritas, great music, and a mature crowd who aren't belligerent fools. There are pool tables, a dance floor, trivia nights on Tuesdays, tvs, a varied menu and great drink choices. This has, hands down, won the 'regular spot' for us and we'll be returning again and again. If you pay attention to the negative reviews obviously written by pretentious idiots who whine about stupid things you will be doing yourself a disservice because Gord's Place is great and there is not a single negative comment I can make. Thank you to the owner and staff of Gord's Place for a great night and delicious dinner!
I've been here 3 times in the last couple of years- two of those visits were for trivia. The other visit I was with friends and we found it far too loud to even hear each other. Trivia gets really loud but it's only due to the amount of people there. I find the food here pricey for what you get. I ordered cheese stuffed bread last time and got what felt like stale baguette with little-to-no cheese for 10$. This bar seems understaffed to host events as busy as trivia. My friend had to remind our waitress 3 times for coffee and they kept forgetting what the rest of us ordered. There's better bars downtown, even within walking distance from Gord's.
I was met with a smile and seated. I ordered the fish and chips and they were great. My server was very polite and helpful and seemed to really enjoy her job. Good over all experience.
Stopped in here for some wings/beer before the Mellencamp show on October 9, got there just before 6pm. It was fairly busy but not crazy, as there were empty tables. We waited 20 minutes to get our first drink; it got no better as my glass went empty twice after that. I would have left but friends I was with told me to be patient, and the waiter kept insisting that our order would be out shortly. Waited nearly an hour and a half after we ordered our food, but by then we had to leave for the show, so we didn't even get to eat. You'd think that they would have given us a free round or something but I guess they didn't feel that was necessary. Absolutely terrible experience.
