Sandy beaches, outstanding sunsets, wood structures, mountains and so many beautiful rocks! Unless you’re will to cut through the military base definitely not recommend, private property simply be aware you must turn around at the point : really enjoyed this place
Goose Spit May 17/2022. The view here is wide & broad. The day we were here, spring weather was strong winds with a mix of sun with rain. Liquid sunshine. The tide was out & landlocked a couple of dolphins that were feeding on fish that attracted many. There's a totem pole at the far end of the spit, accessible by the beach only because the road runs through a section with military control. A lady at the gate, informed us we couldn't drive to the pole. That's far another day in warmer weather.
Stunning sunset. Excellent bay for kit surfing. Public washrooms can be improved. Summer parking extremely full. Get there early. For star lovers you can't stay after midnight due to Municipal parking bylaw.
There is often something going on around the beach. Whether it's people wind surfing on windy days. Or there's a herring run, sea lions splashing, people playing, or a beautiful sky to to see. It's part of my community and great place to go and hang out for awhile. The first pic is of herring roeeggs washed upon the beach.
Great spot to watch the sun set over the mountains! We enjoyed watching the seal in the water swimming around and giving us a show. There was a bit of litter along the shoreline unfortunately. But all in all its awesome there.
Nice, quiet place to park and relax by the water. The views were pretty even though we went there on an overcast day. It’s certainly an interesting place, but not ‘spectacular’ in comparison to many other places in BC. It can get somewhat busy, but there’s a pretty decent amount of parking.
This park is in an amazing location. You see the Sunshine Coast mountains on one side, and the Vancouver Island mountains in the other side. It’s also a great place to lay down your blanket on the tiny beach, or go kayaking. Do keep in mind that you must bring your own kayak as there’s no rental location on this narrow strip of land. It’s surely a great place to visit and one should come in different seasons.
We love waking here with our dog! There is so much to see and explore. Depending on water levels you can see a lot of sea creatures. Went around looking for oysters and crabs. It’s also fun to walk on the logs and our dog found some sticks to play with. Sunsets are very beautiful here as well. Can get quite busy but decent amount of parking.
Lovely place to walk along beach. Chance to see otters playing around. Bring the dogs and kids.
Great park, don't let the name fool you. Like a wise person once told me, never judge a book by it's cover and never judge a park by it's insanely ridiculous name. Ok, she never said the latter but I think that's basically where she was going with that. She taught me everything I know about visiting parks; be on your best behavior, enjoy the views, wear appropriate protection, always ask first, clean up your mess, stay on the trails, playing in the mud is extra, tip if you had a good time and no kissing on the lips. Thanks for all the great parks advice Cinnamon, I apply your training everywhere I go.
