I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The service was good and it has a homey vibe being in an old house but I just wasn’t impressed with the food. Perhaps my expectations were to high from the reviews my friends gave me.
Very good oriental cuisine with many choices of Tia and other hot spicy dishes. Customers need to be patient while dining as the service is slow especially at dinner time on a Friday. It was so busy when the grandmother was put to work serving. Apart from that everything was piping hot and friendly cost are good and the booze menu prices haven't been updated so having a few Chinese beers won't break the bank! I recommend this restaurant and if your in a hurry order take out!
The best Chinese food in town. I recommend it to all family and friends.
Large portions, we had each a meal for 1. Spring roll, soup, pad Thai or chicken curry, for around 15$ each. Food home made and served nice and hot. Plenty of chicken and shrimp in the pad Thai and curry. Friendly staff. Very good value for money. Can choose no msg and spiciness of dish. Takeaway seemed busy. We ate in restaurant. The decor could do with a deep clean, get rid of cobwebs and clean the lighting etc.
Amazing food, with extra large portions. Was recommended by friends and wasn't disappointed. Don't mind paying for quality food. Make sure you call ahead for pick or be prepared for a wait
I bought the Cantonese Chow Mein, it would have been perfect except dissapointed in how little veggies and meat there was to the 3/4 of noodles. I do want to add the vegies and meat used looked and tasted very fresh. Lemon Chicken was tasty but since I wasnt eating it right away it got mushy. I would ask that the chicken and sauce be separated if I go again. I had the House rice and unfortunately it had a bit of a burnt taste, no doubt from the pan they use to cook it in. Dumplings were good but used to getting bigger ones or at least 2 more due to the size. The big thing that concerned me was the lack of attention to cleanliness especially since they dont have customers in the restaurant and during a time when cleaning frequently touched areas is so important. Hope they make some adjustments they have great potential.
They have excellent food. Came hot and very tasty and flavorful. If you want a great meal at a reasonable price, this is the place......but if you are looking for fast food look else where. Takes a long time to prepare and serve.
The first time my husband and I ordered, we ordered a few different items and had enough to feed us for 3 days. The food was delicious, my favourite is the shrimp lo mein. SoGood!
VERY DISAPPOINTED! We made a reservation for 6pm. on Chinese New Year. When we arrived we waited 15min. and they did not have a table for us. A couple was nice enough to move to a table for 2 so we we could have their table for 4. After waiting 20 min. I asked if we could have a waitress come to our table. The table beside us said they had been there for 1 hour and did not even have their drinks yet. Another table said they had been there for over an hour and no service. They did not have enough staff & the take out was over whelming them. No one on the phone or front cash. Got up & went to House of Fong - excellent food & service. This is where we will go from this point on.
Absolutely dissapointed with the service inside the restaurant. Went there on Friday night with our 4 year old daughter and waited more than 15 minutes to be served and no one came to get our order for food or drinks. The group that came in after us got their drinks and was served right away, possibly because they knew the owners. The server didn't even bother to turn to us even after serving the other group. So we picked up and left. Never going back there again.
