Store clean, seating nicely spaced. Customer service sucks. Waitress was rude and talked down to me as if i was stupid. I felt like walking out. They should not speak to customers that way, if you hate your job that much dont take it out on customers. Food was good why giving a three.
We stopped on a Sunday here to get our RV propane filled since the other places were closed. We arrived at 12.30pm. The employees told us it is too busy currently and we have to wait. When we asked how long they said until 3pm because then another employee would be joining. So 2.5hrs! Even though we asked whether they can come out as soon as the lunch time is over, no one was showing up and we had to go back in at 3pm to request the filling again so seems like they forgot about our request. And that being said after 1pm people startet to leave and it was not busy anymore. The picture attached was taken at 2pm. When we got this done Monday at another location it all in all took 5 minutes. At 3pm it turned out that the propane machine was broken so they were not able to fill up the propane at all. So we waited for 2.5hrs for nothing. Not at all what I would expect from a 'big stop' and worst customer experience we had so far for refilling our propane all over Canada. We can't recommend this place at all for refilling propane, plan ahaed and get it done in St. John's or Clarenville instead! Btw the employee who started at 3pm and tried to fill up the propane was really nice and also she was surprised why no one tried to fill our propane before since there was a lady available before who was also trained to do this. Our wild guess: she simply didn't want to help us.
We haven't eaten in the restaurant recently but as I remember the food was satisfactory the service was great and our grandkids loved it. We stop here mostly to charge our electric car when we are on the highway. There's a nice area to stretch your legs. There's even a beautiful, if small, doggie yard and relief area! We usually use the bathrooms and go to the store for coffee and tea. The store has a good selection of snacks, beverages and toys for kids. Kid-friendliness: Weather allowing, there is a nice grassy area around the moose statue where kids can run and climb on boulders. There are also several picnic tables and garbage containers!
It is one of the few places that I stop when we drive across the island. It is relatively close to St. John's, right on the main highway and provides a number of amenities. The view is amazing from the restaurant and the food is good with decent portions and reasonable prices. The only issue I have is that sometimes, when it is fairly busy there, the lineups can take a little longer, but it is a minor issue.
Great food, friendly staff. I noticed a sign that stated "all staff must wash hands every 15 minutes" but not a single waitress washed my hands for me during my time there. It wasn't a big deal since they seemed pretty busy.
Enjoyed this place. Had a great tacos, fish tacos. Hubby had a smash burger, interesting. It was busy so there was a wait. Got carrot cake to go, that was well worth the stop.
Love the food there and Service is usually great. We always go there when we are in the mood for amazing nachos.
All I bought was a Rockstar super cold and a bag of fresh Lays. But the facilities were very well looked after and they have a doggie park on siteService: 5/5
