This place has history and the food is amazing! I have never had a bad meal here schnitzel, veal cutlets, burgers, caesar salads, baked lasagna ...the list of great things we've had goes on!. The decor is a step back in time but it adds to the charm and is nostalgic. Never had bad service here and there definitely value for money. Quality is spot on. Highly recommend
I've driven by the Golden Valley in Trenton for several years and always thought it was a Chinese Restaurant! It was my wife's birthday and we were going out for dinner and the other couple suggested the Golden Valley as they had been there after learning it wasn't what they thought. So we checked the menu and it looked great. I had one of the best burgers bacon/cheddar with the works - well done and very juicy! I have had in a LONG time perfect onion rings and fries. My wife LOVES Stiploin steaks and she decided to try the special ... thinly sliced roasted Striploin ... and she thought it was awesome! Needless to say, we will be back! And our server? She was VERY good!
The prime rib was awesome, baked potato was fully cooked and tasty. Service was good and we loved the coconut cream pie. A good clean restaurant.Recommended dishesCaesar Salad
One of the largest in Trenton. But I think the food quality is not up to the standards expected. French onion soap seems like a half hearted affair with the cheese just plunked on top like an afterthought. The beef patty in the burger is bland and tasteless. At least the service is good.
My Wife and I ate there this evening for Thanksgiving Sunday. We started with Escargot and the house soup Beef and Barley. Both were delicious and well prepared. We both ordered the turkey dinner, one white meat one dark. So delicious! Juicy and perfectly cooked with mashed potatoes and assorted vegetables. Our server’s name was Donna. She was friendly, quick, personable and professional. Ask for her you’ll be glad you did. Overall we give the Golden Valley a 10 out of 10! Large portions, a big variety menu and great value for the money. No wonder they’re so busy. We’ll become regulars for sure!
Just finished a spectacular meal at the Golden Valley Restaurant in Trenton. Never stopped there before but will definitely be back! Greeted by Peter, gracious and very pleasant he gave us great suggestions for our first time there. A good size portion of Prime rib that was tender and juicy with sautéed mushrooms and onions with a Greek rice that was perfectly cooked. Greek a Salad with grilled chicken and the homemade French onion soup was delicious. Not too salty and full of flavor. Great experience and worth pulling off the 401 to enjoy a great meal. Loved the of brass decor too! Thanks and see you again soon!
Found this gem of a restaurant and have been there twice ... the service was exemplary and the food was cooked to perfection... we had Pete on both occasions we were in and he remembered us on our second visit! He is on top of his serving game and is so cognizant of all areas of the drink food and dessert menu as well as the history behind the restaurant. Every single person working on our visits were extremely friendly... I would highly recommend this little gem of a spot to anyone.... thankyou for such an amazing dining experience.... we will definitely be returning again and again
We came here last nightSunday the 4th for a work Christmas party, there were about 35 of us. The food, the service, the atmosphere, were all top notch. I had the 2 pieces of fish and the rest of my table ordered the prime rib and fettuccine Alfredo . All dishes were awesomeI may have had a bite of the prime rib! The Caesar salad and coconut cream were both delicious. We all had an excellent time and we thank the Golden Valley for accommodating us and showing us such a good time.
Absolutely enjoyed our restaurant experience with family and friends 15 people to celebrate our eldest sons 25th birthday has he is leaving overseas again, the staff and food service quickly accommodated us with great food and service. Our waitress exceptional and hostess were just lovely and they provided an area that we could all be seated together! The place was clean and staff were polite and went beyond to ensure our experience was pleasant, great service all around! Definitely will return again!
Totally disappointed with the quality of food, I ordered ribs and they were out of ribs. They were out of tartar sauce for their fish and chips. They were out of coleslaw and they were also out of the three cheese dip.They offered me a replacement for the ribs which was their 7 oz prime rib which was 90% fat and 10% meat. Totally disappointing. The only positive thing about our evening was, we had an amazing waiter, totally sympathetic with our ordeal. We were 15 people and 10 out of 15 got what they ordered ‍
