A nice summer vacation spot. Fairly expensive for what is offered, but overall it is good. You can play mini golf, go swimming or just relax. There is an entry fee, though it is cheap! Staff are very friendly, and quick when you go to buy food from the canteen! The beach is very clean.
We were very looking forward to our first visit to Golden Sands, but left agreeing we wouldn’t return anytime soon. Beautiful stretch of a beach, with paddle boat and canoe rentals, but the sand was not real sand rather small sharp pointy rocks, that you could hardly stand on, let alone walk on. The “sand” needs to be sifted or raked free of the small rocks. I would not recommend going here if you are looking for soft sand, or if you do plan to go, definitely bring water shoes or something to wear on your feet.
Very disappointed booked two nights, paid one night in advanced. Arrived very difficult to find the office, it was located in the middle of camp with no directions as to were it was or how to get to it. Assigned camp site 15, way to small for a 30 ft. Fifth wheel. Campground wouldn't accommodate us and would not refund our money. THE ONLY NEGATIVE ISSUE ON OUR MONTH LONG TOUR.
Stayed there 4 nights it was junk. Water is bad legit makes you sick just from showering not even drinking it...no privacy random ppl come to your cabin and dont even talk too you.. super weird and a waste of money.
Great family campground with a long sandy beach. Playground, ice cream shop and boat rentals. We noticed a lot of trash in the public areas but otherwise it's a great place to spend a weekend.
They charge entrance fees that aren't listed until you are there. The beach is beautiful.
A bit pricey compared to other parks, but my 2 year old loved it. The beach is well maintained and the chalet was very nice and spacious. I look forward to going again.
Beach was great but the cabins are in desperate need of upgrades.
Gone completely down hill from when I was a child. Seems like no need updates in years. Customer service in the canteen could use work. I took my children in twice in the past two years. & I do not recommend. It's so sad to see the amount of litter. The public toilets are beyond dirty. Only give 2 starts because of the memories I have there as a child when it was presentable & seemed to be organized.
I always enjoy it here. Amazing beach very very clean. Great campsites and cabins. The restaurant and convenient store has everything u could need. I'm saying 5 stars for location and store but I did get over charged a few weeks back for my site so check your bill. Its closed for season now so I cant call anyone about it.
