Food is cooked in fish oil *yuk* Veggies were cold undercooked, water logged. Flavors were awful. I dumped out & fed to the crows in parking lot. They have a food truck called Dim Sum Express which is what we ordered from. $16 + tax for this mealFood: 1/5
I tried their dim sum today for the first time. Good selection, fast, friendly service, reasonable pricing, and the food was pretty good. I got three items, ate half for lunch and will enjoy the other half for dinner. Looking forward to trying more of their good variety of dishes.
I got takeout around noon from Golden River Express’ buffet bar. I am of Chinese descent, and some dishes here are not bad. The first egg roll was actually the best Chinese one I remember having. I had them without dipping sauce. Next time, I would only get one for myself because the second one didn’t have the same impact. The fried rice could’ve been better because it has a faint maybe burnt taste. I added a packet of soy sauce to the rice for flavour when I had it on its own, which made it good. It has very little BBQ pork in it. Chow mein was enjoyable as my main, and I liked the vegetables in it green cabbage and onion. Chicken balls were fine. I had them without dipping sauce. None of the above felt overly greasy. I would go back again. I would like to try their all-day dim sum. Also, they used plastic take out containers unlike a review from a year ago, so maybe they stopped using styrofoam.
Grabbed a quick lunch, the food was very well priced especially with how high prices of things are now and very generous portions. Lady was nice and service was quick. I liked the takeout buffet for people in a hurry. Would definitely try more.
I have been eating there for about three years but today was my last time. The shezuan chicken was 10% chicken and the rest was potatoes cut to look like chicken. I’m sad because it used to be my favourite dinner after a long day. The photo attached is all the potatoes
I just went inside. And tried to ask a couple SIMPLE questions and I was treated with an extremely snobby rude Asian lady who doesn’t know anytning about what customer service is. SO rude. Do not eat here the food looked super dried up and old anyways so it was probly for the best that she was rude. Saved me some money! Save yours too!
The lady working at the counter was really nice, but the food is honestly some of the worst chinese food I have ever had. I wanted this place to be good, but I honestly cannot see myself ever going again.
I like their all day dim sum, though often my favorite pork bun is sold out. Food is plentiful and fair, though not well labeled if you like to know what you’re ordering. They use styrofoam for takeout containers. Please please stop, there are many eco friendly options out there that are just as cheap.
Absolutely the best service. We've been coming here for years but I recently went to just get food for myself - the prices were so good I was floored. They could honestly charge twice what they are because the food is amazing. Restaurant is super clean, and I appreciate them asking if you want something after listing possible allergens like meat as I am allergic to a certain meat. Pork shumai/dumplings are my all time favourite and taste like you're really there. Everything is made by hand and you can get stuff made fresh - but everything IS fresh and it's amazing. The woman who owns the restaurant is the nicest person you will ever meet. Be extra sweet to her, please, she works SO hard. All of the veggies are always fresh. All of the rice is always good. The noodles are hot and tasty. THANK YOU, GOLDEN RIVER. You are a mainstay in my area and I hope you keep being here forever.
Delicious vegetables, great to grab after work when I don't feel like cooking. The lady I'm assuming owner has always been super polite in the years I have been going there.
