I took my daughter out for Chinese as we wanted it for a while now and the ought to try local. That was our first mistake. There was no one in the restaurant except one other family and the service was super slow. It took forever to get our egg rolls out and then waited again for our meal. The chicken balls fell apart and were doughy inside which were disgusting. The garlic spare ribs were good though. The chow mein had no flavour and the food was not even hot. You would think that the amount of time we waited, we would have hot food. Then when info to pay, she adds a tip herself that I didn’t notice until after I paid and she wouldn’t change it. This place is absolutely terrible and we will never return here.
Just had a take out of ginger and green onion double lobsters on top of noodles, it was good and lobster is fresh and the taste was just right. Also, price is reasonable. Next time I will try dinning in, it should be excellent when it is coming out the kitchen ...
its a horrible place to dine. Had shrimp chow mien and i was served a crispy noodles that had a bland veggies and shrimp. I should have been warned. I also ordered curry chicken. I dont even know what to say about this one. sigh. My partner ordered chicken fried rice which wasnt bad. we ended up sharing that. The environment can make you loose your appetite. Oh i forgot to mention that the amount of tip is forced. You dont have the option of deciding how much you give
I had a good experience here. There was only one other family, so we were addressed and seated quickly. It's nice and quiet, and the food came quickly. The server was brief but not rude in her speech, which I appreciate over small talk. The food itself was fine; it was hot, authentic, and priced fairly. For a dine-in on a whim, I was pleasantly surprised.
Food was ok. Some didn't have much flavour. We ordered two of almost everything. One of the two noodles was wet in. The other noodle was dry but the dish was supposed to be the same. The crispy beef and chicken balls were excellent!
They have some very excellent, authentic Chinese dishes here. After dining here with my family and seeing that this restaurant is overall rated only 2 stars, I believe they haven't been given enough credit for the quality of their food and their services. I noticed that a lot of the reviews state that "they're rude" or that "they don't seem to care in their tone of voice"...after recently dining here and observing the employees while they provide service keeping in mind what I've read from the reviews trying to pinpoint if it's happening or not, I think I see where the miscommunication/misconception/misinterpretation is coming from. Take it from me, someone of Asian decent who grew up here in Canada, raised by a family full of immigrants, I can understand and see how others may interpret their message as "mono-tone" which can come off as rude or offensive. With English being a second language, I truly believe their employees don't have the intent to sound rude when they ask things like, "what do you want to drink?" As compared to instead maybe saying, "may I ask if you'd like something to drink?"...I'm pretty sure when they were learning how to speak English, their goal was to simply learn enough to get by - not master English grammar and the difference in tone of speech which might have helped them in the customer service industry. Having said that, I didn't give them a 5 star rating only because I did notice a mild odour when I entered the restaurant - it might have been from their turtle tank? I wasn't too fond about that but it wasn't too bad after all our food had arrived. Other than that, I would definitely come back to dine at this restaurant again or order take out for sure.
Great authentic Chinese. I'll second what has already been stated here; the servers are monotone because English is not their 1st language. A bit of patience, and an understanding that your Mandarin is nowhere near as good as their English. Service was fast, try the jasmine green tea!
One of the better authentic Chinese restaurants outside China Town. Food reasonably priced. Service not good. The to-go set dinners are really good. Their fried noodles are the best.
almost as good a meal as the soup kitchen, but I'm sticking with the soup kitchen. No wonton's in the wonton soup. Chicken egg rolls were cold in the centre. Rice was very nice, but the chicken balls were the over cooked ones from last week. Best you stay home, they don't want you there.
Had I known they serve shark fin soup, I would have saved a lot of $136 for awful food. Messed up our takel out order by $35 over what we ordered. Spare ribs and General Tso chicken so dry and overcooked you couldn't chew them. Fried rice awful. Won ton soup of dumplings made with questionable ingredients, flavourless broth and some lettuce. Beef rice noodles were mush.
