My wife and I ordered from Golden City today for the first time as we were driving through Sechelt to Garden Bay. We ordered chicken balls, lemon chicken, chicken fried rice, honey garlic ribs, and several vegetarian dishes. Everything was very tasty, and we were extremely satisfied with the quality and portion size. We will definitely order again!
Ordered takeout tonight and, with exception of the sweet and sour pork, everything was flavorless. The wonton soup was blah and the chicken chow mein was basically steamed noodles with no sauce and a few small pieces of chicken. Will not order from here again.
This restaurant has been in existence for forty five years now under the management of the third owners so it is well know to the locals. Quite good flavours as our group of four ordered different combination lunches as well as a Singapore Fried Rice Noodle dish. ..very good. Buffet available on the weekends....
Ordered on a Friday night for a third time. Each time is increasingly disappointing. Chicken chow mein and wonton soup were both completely flavorless. The chow mein has no sauce - just steamed noodles with a tiny bit of shredded boiled chicken on top. I would love to support this local business but not if I'm getting ripped off.
Today is Mother's Day and since many restaurants in the area were closed we decided to check out this restaurant. I'm happy that we did! The buffet has lots of options and they don't use MSG in their cooking. The food is very good and is run by a Chinese family so you know it's going to be good. The staff are friendly and the service is great!
Haven't been here in a few years. Good service, great lunch specials, and the place is clean and recently updated! Definately will return!
The dinner was amazing! The food choices and flavours were really spectacular. I would recommend the restaurant in a bit. Please drop by when in town and you will not be disappointed.
As I've seen others say, the chicken chowmein is not good, probably the worst noodle dish I've been served. Please add some sauces to it. It was like they boiled the chicken breast and noodles and put it on a plate. Hopefully that's not something the locals want. We got one of the dinner combo, the rest of the dishes were ok. Won ton soup was just hot water with veggies and tasteless won tons. I hope the cooks are able to make better quality dishes. The service was very good, fast and our waitress was attentive. But please take more time on the dishes.
I have been a customer for at least ten years! The staff is always friendly and helpful. We love the combination dinners, the chicken balls and the beef broccoli!
