Story

Glenwood Cemetery is an active cemetery located on 62 acres of land in the heart of the town of Picton, Ontario, Canada. Designed as a garden cemetery, it is set in rollings hills, with majestic mature forests, gardens, water features and winding walking paths. Established in 1873, it has offered a serene resting place .

Professional and sensitive service are a priority for our staff. Glenwood Cemetery takes offers a variety of interment options: in-ground and cremation burials, a scattering ground and columbaria. Click on arrangements for more details.

Glenwood Cemetery is operated by a Volunteer Board of Directors. The Annual General Meeting is held every June in the Stone Chapel, everyone is welcome.

Glenwood Cemetery is a rich but generally unrecognized resource of local and national history. An ongoing project involves the transferral of 12,000 to 15,000 Burial Records to an electronic database. This data base is significant for anyone who is searching for ancestors with connections to the County.

Several public events are held each year at Glenwood: Jazz in the Chapel in August, a Veterans’ Day Ceremony in September and a Christmas Wreath & Basket Sale in November which is a fund raiser for Glenwood.
