We loved this place. The seasonal campers are very friendly. It is a very lovely place to go. The cottages for rent have everything you would need. Don’t expect a luxurious cabin as it is dated. That would never deter us from going again. Very safe place. I was never worried about my girls teen & preteen and I was alone with them most of the time while my husband worked hours away. We stayed a month and would have extended that stay if it were not booked! The place is not crowded at all. The beach was nice and has gradual Sandy walk out. The water was always warm and we could stay in it for hours! I had rented the paddleboat for the month also snd the water is so calm that every morning I would go for an hour or so. Fishing is fantastic for small fish and to take children out. No joking, the fish were so plentiful! Nice quiet place day and night. If you’re into playing music outside and partying around a campfire, this is not the place for you. The town is very close for Icecream or shopping. The city isn’t too far away to go do laundry either. Great pizza place not too far. This place was heaven for us. We are truly hoping that we will be able to book a month in 2021 too unless COVID ruins that plan.
We rented cottage number 10 off of Airbnb. Despite us running late to checkin, the management was very friendly and lenient. The cottages themselves are not of a 5 star caribbean resort, but they are liveable with basic cooking appliances, which bring back memories of scouts camp. The campground was clean and the water was beautiful, with available boat rentals canoes, fishing boats, etc.. Recommend for the owner to bring in a few more canoes and kayaks for rental though!
We had Good time at this place.It's under new management,They are improving the standards of this place.The rooms are small and wash rooms 50% operational...LOL The Lake is Good for Boating and Fishing. Advised the owners to make few fire pits.. A Good Bug and Mosquito repellent is MUST!...
Booked into a very rustic and well past its prime Cottage 2 for a somewhat lengthy stay. Upon arrival it had a dirty non-functional toilet and rotten meat in the fridge. After some general cleaning it was liveable and thanks to Paul the site manager the toilet issue was resolved albeit a day later... we used the toilet in another cottage in the interim. After a couple of days we got settled in and were able to relax and enjoy the views of the lake. Paul even provided us with a coffee maker and bbq. Overall the grounds and buildings could use some serious tlc but it was liveable... just don't expect too much. Fyi... Cottage 1 had no hot water and don't lean on the deck railing or you might end up on the hard ground 5-6 feet down. It is also recommended that you bring your own drinking water.
Just had a great weekend at Glen lor lodge. Overall a great experience. The lake absolutely beautiful.. cottage had a really moldy smell but clean kitchen and bathroom. Had a great time
Really beautiful place and at night you can see the stars but if you rent or stay at a house, the houses are kinda old so you should maybe take your own bed sheets and pillows.
I did stay there but someone I know did. Infrastructure needs major work, apparently one of the cabins does have running water but the owner doesn't tell people before they rent it, owner not the easiest to deal with & not interested in making any improvements seems to be in it for the money only
This place is perfect for families that are looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. Not the place to go if you’re looking to party late at night. The owners were very nice and accommodating.The swim area is beautiful and clean! The water is pretty shallow for the first 20 feet which is great if you have little ones. There are little fish that swim around you, my kids and I spent hours snorkelling trying to touch them! We will definitely be back and totally recommend this place!
Amazing cottage with plenty if fishing. Great owners who are very kind and welcoming. My wife and I came here for our anniversary, and were only suppose to stay for 2 days, bit loved it so much ended up staying for 3 days -went home grabbed the kids and brought them back with is to the cottage and ended up staying for 7 days total. This place is very kid friendly and lgbtq friendly. Great place for a fishing , the fish are everywhere. The water is clean and great for a kids to swim. I would definitely come back again and recommend it to everyone
We loved our time here. The lake and beach are beautiful, the water was crystal clear. The cottage was super cute! Very clean and packed with everything you need including cable. The owners were very accommodating and friendly, they offer outdoor toys for the kids and beach floaties. They also had a selection of board games and videos to borrow for free! We had a blast! Can't wait to go back next year :
