The personal and friendly service from this small local pharmacy is rare these days. Very willing to help and answer questions. All staff is lovely.
Lied about ability to order brand name, told to wait 3 weeks. After waiting 4 weeks, brand name was still unavailable. Upon calling another pharmacy, I was told the product is not possible to order, and has not been for over a year now. A lie from a pharmacist is no go in my books. Shame on you.
I love this place and I'm very grateful to have it nearby. Best pharmacy in the city! Staff are super helpful and friendly. Thank you for all you do, especially during the last two years of Covid-19
Customer service has drastically declined since 2 years ago. I used to order boxes of needles for my hormone injections with no problems from this location as they were difficult to find elsewhere same type of needle as the flu shot ones, so makes sense. I was running low a few months ago so I called to see if I could order another box, was told they'd order it and I should call back in a few days. Called, said they'd order it and to call in a week. Called, said they needed to talk to the person who does the orders, and that they'd call me back in a week-- this repeated about 4 times until I went in person and was told again I would be called in a few days. Called a final time to just be told the same story. Not once did they call me. Technically I am still waiting for a call because I gave up and didn't bother telling them why should I if they can't bother to keep me in the loop?. I was going to transfer there because previously they'd been lovely to work with, but I'm going elsewhere now. Don't bother trying to buy bulk needles from them.
The Glebe Apothecary is the best pharmacy in Ottawa, and has been ever since its opening over 30 years ago. I try to visit any time I'm in the area! Z and her team are incredibly kind, patient and caring people.
The pharmacist on service today, June, 11th, 2022 has been very unhelpful, had a rude demeanor and refused to acknowledge the repeated mistakes that either he or his assistants have made. This was not a one time incidence. The head pharmacist is excellent, but some of the people working with her are careless and unapologetic.
I don't even know where to start with this review. This pharmacy had prescribed the WRONG medication to me and I was taking it daily. When I got my refill and noticed the pills looked totally different, they told me "it's because of a dose change". I pointed out that the dose was reading as exactly the same mgs. After many phone calls back and forth with my doctor, we realized that in fact I had been taking a medication I was never prescribed because they "misread the prescription". As if this wasn't bad enough, they were unbelievably rude to me throughout the entire experience. Even from the beginning when I had to request the pharmacist inform about my brand new medication thought they were supposed to do this anyways? begrudgingly the male pharmacist told me "I don't know". to normal questions like - Can i drink alcohol with these? What time of day should I take them at? When I pressed the issue as I needed direction, he said "FINE, I'll google it". Funny thing is, I was never even on the right medication anyways so the information wasn't even accurate. I will now FOREVER have extreme anxiety about pills as I now know how easy it is for a pharmacist to give you whatever they "think" it is, with no due diligence. There was another incident where I was picking up a different medication, that they mixed up and didn't even know what they were giving me/making me pay for, until I showed them the text notification with the RX name. They say "Oh yeah I guess that's it then". Really instills confidence in your patients, holy... At a certain point I literally started to wonder if this man was a con artist because I was completely mind blown at how EVERYTHING got so messed up, and then on top of that they treated me so poorly. I spent hundreds in medications I didn't need/was not supposed to be taking, my doctor was horrified, and this pharmacy did not care AT ALL. I have never had any issues with the female pharmacist but the absolute negligence of this establishment blows my mind, thank you for traumatizing me to the point of extreme anxiety ingesting any pills now as I always question what is actually in them. I know they couldn't care less, so I might as well let others know my experience - the Glebe Apothecary didn't think it was a big deal at all so they can keep that same energy when I share my story with others.
The Glebe Apothecary had provided excellent service to our family for a long time. We have no car, and the Apothecary enabled us to live cautiously and safely during the pandemic by delivering prescriptions to our home and vaccinating us in its secure environment. Thank you, Ms. Surani, and your team.
This is my favourite pharmacy. It went through a difficult phase during the transition to being part of Shoppers, which included new systems to manage, but now they are back to providing the same excellent service as before. I find the pharmacists and their staff very helpful, professional and caring. Their personalized service is much appreciated.
I have been a customer for the last 20 years, and the personal is usually very nice in the pharmacy, and mostly in the prescription section. However, they had always been rather slow for filling prescriptions, although they had improved a bit after their association with Shoppers. But for the last year or so, they have become terrible. It never take less than 25 minutes to fill a prescription. My last experience is the last straw. I brought my prescription yesterday and told them I would pick it up today in the morning because I didn't want to wait 25 minutes, which probably meant 30-35. I was there today at 3:30, and it was not ready yet. They asked me if I wanted to wait!!!! I believe that they have now come to a point where they just don't care about their customers. I am seriously thinking of changing pharmacy. I may give them another chance, but certainly not more. It is a petty because I like this place, it could be very nice.
