Glazier Electric

This is a terrific resource for electricians, interior designers, and people with interesting lights in general to know about. Glazier has a wide, fair priced, and accessible inventory that's quickly available. I've been here quite a few times to get parts, and referred them to customers who needed fancy fixtures repaired. Photos are what I was looking at, and barely scratch the surface of what Glazier stocks.

I have an unusually large antique lamp which needed to have the electric and internal hardware replaced, and a refurbishment of the very large shade. We came up with a plan for how to repair/replace; work was done to a high standard, at what I felt was a fair price. Will be back for any future needs and recommend to anyone in need of lamp refurbishment.

Revitalized an old brass floor lamp that had a mogul socket base. Extremely hard to find the right parts and switch to a medium e26 base socket. Sonia/Lightning Renewal/Glazier Electric to the rescue!!! Being on the East Coast and trying to find the parts was difficult. Lots of emails and pictures back and forth where Sonia was able to provide all the correct fitting parts. Save your old lamps from the landfill as these people are awesome to work with.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. We needed 8 lamp shades. They had 3 in stock, I bought those and was told the others would arrive within 8 weeks. It took over 9 MONTHS without any update and when they finally arrived, the owners changed the price on their original bill os sale increasing it by over 20%. A complete bait and switch and would not honour their original quote.

Very nice owner! He was so helpful and knowledgeable. This place is your go to for anything lamps amd parts etc... Highly recommend it!

I took two vintage lamps there to get rewired, after more than a week and a half I phoned to see what was going on, he said maybe tomorrow and then phoned me 2 hours later to say they were ready. The woman who works the front is about as friendly as Angela from The Office. The price was far too high for any of this! It says they have been in business since the 1930s but this is hard to believe! How?

Twice within the last month I have been able to find items here that I was not able to find elsewhere. Believe me, I had searched extensively! Sonia and Dave are very helpful. I highly recommend this shop and will make it my first stop the next time I am looking for electrical items.

Have had a number of vintage lamps rewired here. Prompt service. Quality work. Also a nice selection of lamp shades and hard-to-find parts and cords. I love having vintage lamps with safe wiring!! :- Good value for money. My only wish is that they were open one evening each week so I could pick things up after working hours. Also, this business has been in Calgary since 1933 !! so I like supporting a local small business. Highly recommended.

If you need electrical supplies or help with a light fixture you must go to Glazier! I cannot say enough good things about this store. Their staff have basically instructed me on which pieces of electrical equipment I need in order to rewire vintage light fixtures and lamps - obviously KNOW what you’re doing, it’s electrical and therefore dangerous but these wizards can help you find ANYTHING! Just go.
