Great atmosphere, servers were very attentive - drinks were amazing gin flights HIGHLY recommend! A great place that obviously really cares about their community cocktails based on local businesses? LOVE IT! Came from out of town, but would make a point of coming back for more drinks!
Great experience here on opening weekend. Love the cocktails.. very complex and not overly sweet. I tried almost all of the cocktails on the menu. My fave was the Micro Bourbonomics. Burger was amazing.. made fresh and got it medium rare. Halibut was a good portion size and fresh as well. Service was surprisingly quick. The Speakeasy downstairs is super cool as well.. cash only! I will be back for sure
Covid update: Gin Mill's slushies are awesome. We stopped in for the topical mango on a hot day and it was well worth it! We've been to Gin Mill a few times now and we'll be back again. The mains have been excellent all the times we've been and the bruschetta is the best I've ever had. I'd highly recommend the cocktails, the Earl's Private Jet is my favorite so far. The restaurant is always clean and the staff friendly. Looking forward to seeing what drinks they think of next! Brunch is new at Gin Mill and we enjoyed it! The coffee was brewed right, the mimosa flights are a new favorite and these have to the best waffles in town. Thanks Chloe for the great service!
I had an amazing time here. Planned for a cozy girls night with some drinks and apps. We got the fried Brussels sprouts, cauli wings honey siracha, and the charcuterie board. The Brussels sprouts were some of THE BEST I’ve ever had. Seriously. Cauli wings were so satisfying and did not disappoint, excellent veggie alternative! The charcuterie board was lovely, we especially enjoyed all the olives! The bread was a soft, grilled garlic bread, so so good. We also got the gin flight, which came with blackberry, raspberry, Clementine spice, and pineapple infused gin, all delicious and worth the price. Staff were so friendly and prompt as well! Will 100% be back and would recommend this place to anyone.
The attention to detail at the Gin Mill is superb. From the decor to the small but wonderful menu, to the drinks of course, everything feels handmade and as if a lot of thought went into it all. Our waiter was knowledgeable and laid-back. He joked around with us and tables around us but was professional when it came to taking orders and delivering our food. The gins drinks my wife and I got were A+ and all the ingredients were seasonal. A nice touch. My slow-cooked ribs were fall-off-the-bone and tasty, the fries were done perfectly, and my wife's fish and chips were accompanied with what she said was the best tartar sauce she'd ever had. This just a week after we returned from Ireland where she bled the county dry of fish and chips so that's saying something. In all, this is a great place for a date or a casual dinner.
The food was delicious with great portions. Presented beautifully. The drinks are equally great. Went with a friend who doesn't like cocktails or alcohol and even she was impressed and downed the whole thing quickly. Also love that the drinks are cheaper at the speakeasy than upstairs. So many neat touches. You can tell a lot of thought went into the customer experience overall. Very happy with this new addition to guelph's downtown. Oh and there are vegan options! :
Very nice new place in Guelph. The lunch hamburger and carrot ginger soup were delicious. Our server filled us in on the concept and origins and invited us to take a peek at the cool speak-easy on the lower level. The lower spot, complete with piano and plush furnishings, is the perfect after dinner or theatre spot.
Went on a Saturday night and had a reservation. We got seated promptly and waiter served us quickly offering us drinks. He was quite passionate and knowledgable about each drink option. The drink options seemed limited. If you werent a gin lover there was a win option or a specialty vodka drink option. I was imprrssed that they had a full page of mocktails. The restaurant atmosphere is super cool. Lots of room between tables and comfy bench seating. The food was good. Menu was small but options for everyone. We ordered 2 boards to share amongst 4 of us. The seafood one and the meat one. The presentation was great. Not quite enough for four people. The music was a little loud, but perfect for the restaurant theme. Overall we had a great time.
Had lunch at the Mill Ordered Grilled Calamari, Haddock and Chips And From scratch burger Loved the Calamari will definitely order again.
We love the Gin Mill for their fantastic infused gins, cocktails, and slushies, but don't forget the food! The fries are amazing and they have some of the best fish and chips in town.
