Good prices for tight budgets. Clothing is practical and useful; I got my son track pants for $15. Milk is a decent price. They have nice tomatoes and other vegetables. All tend to be bagged rather than loose. Recently had blueberries at $1.88 for a small container and they were the best tasting. Worth your time dropping in here regularly to see what they have. Cashiers are friendly and helpful and fast. The store offers also shoes and boots, pants, dresses, PJs; kid clothes and men's & women's. Good prices in the baking section and otherwise prices comparable to other big department stores.
I’ve been to this location before and usually have a pleasant experience, as most of the staff are friendly and welcoming. However, during my recent visit, the cashier who assisted me did not seem like she wanted to be there at all. There was no greeting, no interaction—she simply scanned my items and appeared to assume I would be paying by card without asking.nnWhat stood out even more was seeing another cashier nearby who was warm, friendly, and greeting every customer she served. The contrast in customer service was very noticeable. Unfortunately, the cashier I had did not say thank you or acknowledge me at the end of the transaction—she just handed me the receipt.nnI understand that everyone can have off days, but basic customer service goes a long way. I hope this is something that can be addressed, as it doesn’t reflect the usual positive experience I’ve had here.
I used to really enjoy shopping at Giant Tiger in St. Catharines. It stood out for its great value and the interesting, new products aimed at value-conscious shoppers. Lately, however, I’ve noticed a decline. The store no longer seems to prioritize the same level of care, both in product selection and in the overall shopping experience. It feels like the focus has shifted to just moving whatever items are on hand, without much thought for the store’s look or the customer experience.nnI was considering a quick stop on my way home from work, expecting to pay prices close to a 24-hour variety store and likely have another subpar experience. But when I saw that the bicycle rack had been removed, that was the final straw.nnUnfortunately, Giant Tiger has lost a customer. I hope the store considers returning to the thoughtful, value-driven approach that once made it a great shopping destination.
Came here with my wife and daughter to do some groceries was gonna buy a case of blackberry's for my daughter to snack on well we were in the store. Went to open them up and there all caked in mold I'm really happy that I had realized because I myself am deathly allergic and my daughter is the same. Great store and all but you might want to come down on your workers for not swapping the produce and just letting it sit to rot. I can definitely see a law suit happening if people keep buying rotten food.
Just a great place find good deals, one stop shopping!nClothes, food and cleaning supplies also bedding and nick / nacks.
