If you are looking for school accommodations DO NOT stay here. I have stayed here for two different school years and both years were a terrible experience. They do not give you notice for construction, it is exam season and there is constant drilling and constant yelling, loud talking right outside my door from the workers. They also do most of their construction/updates to the building during school times, not on breaks like reading week or Christmas break. The windows in the hall have been boarded up for MONTHS and it makes the halls so dark and depressing. The workers here can be rude but there is a few workers that have made a difference and are amazing at what they do. The leadership that controls this building is not very good, they DO NOT provide adequate solutions to problems, they love to add random charges to your account without explaining, they do not care about anyone but themselves.nThe residence is not clean, its dark and gloomy. Before moving into the room they say they clean the room, they DO NOT, I found a bag of cocaine underneath my bed it was not mine. This place is also such a cash grab, I lost my room key in my car and they charged me $20 for a new room key, its just a card they program this is crazy to me I pay enough money to be here and this was my only time losing my key. If you are looking for accommodations try Green residence, the Arcadian or London residence, Yes they are more expensive and further away from campus but they are so much better than this place.nTHIS PLACE HAS RUINED MY COLLEGE EXPERIENCE DO NOT LIVE HERE.
If your not picky over sleeping and accommodations this place is about as cheap as it gets for just rest and go.. it's a cozy, it's not the Ritz here but it does the job for sleep and go explore all day type place with affordable prices. There is a shared kitchen with multiple appliances for use, laundry facility on first floor but I don't like the fact that to if you had to wash on load at $2.10 and dry for $1.50, the systematic way to achieve that is to load a minimum of $10 card which gets dispensed through a machine. This is useful for those staying a week long using laundry area multiple times but not for couple night stays with one use.
The conditions of the building are terrible for what you pay. They do construction around the times of your exams. The front desk staff are sometimes never there or extremely nosy asking you why you'd like to speak with the building manager and won't put you through until you tell her. The the opposite gender cleaning staff don't care to knock and will barge into your room without announcing themselves. I have an issue with a staff member that tried to flirt with me when I first moved in. He followed me around the campus gym and welcomed himself into my dorm during inspections when he was NOT assigned to my floor. I had just moved to another floor he wasnt assigned to. Sam still works there as a janitor.. When you're having roommate problems you don't get taken seriously unless you say you're getting the law involved.nnAll in all I wish they cared more for the price. The only thing is the convenience if you want to be on campus. Besides that though, if you're a student your best bet is to get off-campus housing and take the bus as there are tons of cheaper options nearby.
Honestly, I'm staying here now, and I wish I had booked something else. I came here because it's the only hotel in the north end, but it is so dark and depressing. Every corner is shadowy, the outer walls are concrete, and the interior walls are covered in wallpaper, literally peeling off the walls. Every horizontal surface is short, counters, toilets, and sinks. I have to bend down to do anything. I feel bad for students who have to stay here.
