I had surgery on my right foot and am 1 year post op. I was very nervous to have this surgery and lived with chronic pain for 25 years. It was when I was told by a specialist that my right foot is done and has had a good life... I was referred to Dr. Lu. Dr. Lu is definitely an expert! Dr. Lu has changed my life and I am so very thankful I had this surgery. I have recommended Dr. Lu to others and would do it all again! Dr. Lu and staff are wonderful and truly a blessing. Thank you Dr. Lu!
Dr Lu is nothing short of outstanding. Though brief and not big on the warm fuzzies, he’s incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and I had full confidence putting not just my ankle, but my future mobility in his capable hands. It doesn’t take too long to put together that you’re lucky to be in his care.
Dr. Lu and the staff at Georgetown hospital are amazing. I had 2 surgeries in 2021. A right foot bunion surgery and later a left foot toe surgery. Dr. Lu's online notes about surgery prep and recovery process were very helpful. I have recommended him to many people. Thanks to Dr. Lu for giving me back the ability to walk pain free.
Dr Lu was referred to for my foot fusion issues and initially I was were very apprehensive, However Dr Lu was very thorough and patient and took time to explain the procedure in detail and made me feel comfortable-he did an excellent job and I am on my way to recovery getting better everyday .Dr Lou knows his field of work and I would consider him as an expert.
Dr.Christopher Lu is a great surgeon. Just had my bunion removed May 11, 2021. It was a very smooth process and his recommendations about equipment was totally accurate. His knowledge and professional attitude makes you feel more comfortable approaching surgery date. When Dr.Lu has the initial exam you are free to ask any questions and he will tell you all to expect I was told Dr.Lu was highly recommend know this is true. I have also received a follow up call the day after my surgery to see how I was. In future I will recommend Dr. Lu to others I do know who have the same and or foot problems. Will update once bandages are off and pin removed but I know I’m going to be pleased with the outcome I’m sure of it. Please listen to Dr. Lu he knows what he is doing and mostly knows exactly what he is telling you. Marilyn
My experience with Dr. Lu was terrifying. My mom had severe nerve pain in her left foot, after his diagnosis he told her it’s due to diabetes and nothing can be done. I asked him “so you are saying she has to deal with this pain all her life” he response was “yes, pretty much”. His recommendation after the appointment was to read this book on diabetes knowing she doesn’t speak English, control diabetes and he prescribed her “pain killer” for nerve pain. We left the office, totally dishearten. I didn’t trust his diagnosis therefore, I booked an appointment with another Specialist and he was able to cure my mom’s foot. He told us Dr. Lu gave my mom even wrong medication. His diagnosis were completely wrong. He rushed us through the whole appointment. Please be vigilant when booking an appointment with this doctor.
My experience with this ‘clinic’ started with my family doctor referring me for a foot surgery. 2 weeks went by after referral and no body called me. My doctor provided me with the phone number, so I called today, to be shocked and disgusted with the receptionist. Extremely unprofessional and in the complete wrong profession. People at fast food restaurants have more patience and general kindness. She initially was rude to me because she couldn’t get my name right over the phone, rudely telling me how ‘next time’ I need to use words when spelling my name because ‘f’ and ‘s’ sound alike. I was then about to write down the date of a consultation. She asked after 5 seconds “ready?!” She then rudely told me to “you should always have a pen and paper ready”. since she had to wait literally 15 seconds. I was not prepared as I only called to see what was happening since I didn’t hear from this clinic for 2 weeks time She then told me a date and time within the next week so I needed to check if this day would work. She was clearly in a big hurry to get off the phone, so I said sure, if I am not available I will call back to change the date seeing as how she did not have time for me she said no if you’re going to cancel I have to cancel this date, and tried booking me half a month later then. I stated I just need to check my calendar to see my availability, but that I can tell you’re rushing. She said “yes I have 2 people standing in front of me waiting for me” so I told her to go deal with them then. And will now be finding a new referral. As a receptionist, you are the first point of contact for this clinic. I wonder how many other patients didn’t go to Dr.Lu due to his rude receptionist. I unfortunately did not catch her name but reading other reviews I am not surprised by this now. If you need surgery, I would not even contemplate going here. Surgery is a stressful, scary thing and the last thing you need is some nasty receptionist who had a bad day taking it out on you.
Dr Lu is a fantastic surgeon. I had bunion surgery on June 29, 2021. My foot looks fantastic. My big and middle toes were crossed and I had a difficult time wearing shoes. My foot looks normal again. I am just waiting for the swelling to go away.
Dr. Lu is an excellent doctor. He is very knowledgeable, skilled and highly experienced in his field. He performed bunion surgery on my feet - left and right foot recently. I can walk pain-free. Happy with the results. I would assign a 6 star.
I am posting this on behalf of Inger England who had bunion surgery on September 29, 2020. After 4 months the foot is almost back to normal and pain free. Very happy with outcome!!! Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Lu, his office and physio staff! They are friendly and highly efficient. Would recommend Dr. Lu to anyone who is requires bunion surgery.
