Wow. I can’t even begin to explain the rudeness that I experienced with one of the counselors there when I called to simply ask questions. It’s like my inquiry was met with defensiveness and animosity right away. Insane. I’ve never dealt with a counselor/advisor at a school that was this rude. First of all, they are very hard to get in touch with, very unorganized and not transparent about the process of getting into a program, then when you ask questions you’re treated horribly. I wouldn’t go here if it was the only option in Pensacola, I’d drive out of town instead. Good thing PSC is in Pensacola and when I called them to ask questions about the GED program, a counselor answered right away, happily answered my questions and explained the process without a problem. My son will be going to PSC instead and it’s all due to this experience with this one “counselor” at George Stone. If this is the way you treat people just for asking questions, then I can’t imagine what the rest of the program is like.
It was really good. I needed a replacement paper for my grandson & they were some of the nicest people. Everyone was extremely helpful & really friendly. I look forward to him attending there.
George Stone Technical College does not seem to have their stuff together. My husband went there to receive his marine technician certification which he did but that office is ridiculous. They NEVER answer their phone no matter what extension you press. They are super slow to get back with you when you leave a message. My husband and I were told numerous different things from the financial aid office that never seemed to really add up. I guess it did but I still don’t know. I guess I would feel more confident about what they were telling me if I didn’t get a different answer every time I spoke to them and I didn’t have to wait an hour on them today for them to come to some kind of conclusion, which was also different. Please be aware of this before you sign up. Good thing they have an amazing marine instructor. My husband said thank you Mr. Schmitt. Even with all the problems with the horrible front office, mr. Schmitt was 100% worth and inconvenience.
My daughter and I have been calling over a week to get information on certain programs we are interested in. When someone answers the phone, they always transfer us to someone who never answers. That tells me alot!! I guess we take our business to a place that actually cares for new students.
Love going to school here. Would recommend to anyone looking to further their education
I have only been taking classes here for a couple weeks, but have great experiences so far. Would recommend this place to anyone that is interested in becoming employed as a policeman or as for me a correctional officer. The instructors are firm and tough, but because of the type of work we will be doing once employed, it really gets you ready for what may happen on the job!!
i took my cna class here in 2013 my teacher was very nice and had good information that helped us all pass the state exam now this year i want to do the police academy! nothing bad to say about this school they don't put up with no bs do your work be on time and take advantage of not having to take a loan out like you normally would have to do at a community college i would like to say though that they should offer some night classes im not sure if they do now but back then they didn't and for people that are working full time but also want to continue there education it would be helpful to have some night classes available or even some online classes since the coronavirus hit
The Marine Service technology program is by far amazing and comes with a great instructor! We do both hands on and computer work. I have been in the class for 5 months and I have learned a lot. This is a great field to get into especially being in Florida! Everybody has boats you can work on. You can come out of this class making money and the instructor will put you on with a job all you have to do is put in effort.
I've been looking for a good Technical School to learn a trade . I moved to Pensacola and found this one online. I visited the Marine Service Technology Teacher to get more information about the class and after a tour of the classroom I really got excited about going to school again. I can't wait to get enrolled.
GSTC has an excellent Marine mechanic class. The instructor Mr Schmitt does a great job preparing his students for work in the marine mechanic field. I have 2 of his former students working in my shop and they are very good technicians. I would recommend the class to anyone who is wanting to get into the field.
