Ordered dinner from you tonight, it was good but not very hot. Arrived at the time that we ordered for, so I am guessing that it was ready and sitting in the kitchen for awhile. I understand that prices have gone up, but the dinner for 3 has gone up by 12 dollars, when the dinner for one has only gone up by 2 dollars. Logic would say that the dinner for 3 should have gone up by 6 dollars. My biggest "beef" though is your minimum delivery price. That went from 35 dollars to 55 dollars. We live just down Lakeshore, so it isn't like the driver had to go across town.
I ordered chicken fried rice, and it was terrible. You get a small portion now, hardly any soya sauce in it, and it was greasy. I think they changed ownership a while back, and and now it’s terrible. it’s really sad because it was the best Chinese place in town. How can you screw up chicken fried rice come on now. Anyways, I won’t be ordering there ever again.
Ordered dinner for 3 recently and the dishes they prepared were delicious. Served nice and piping hot, with servings generous enough for 3 adults to have their fill and some leftovers. Definitely a good place to get your takeout Chinese.

I was looking forward to trying the food at George's China Kitchen but unfortunately, I never got to. I called the restaurant to place a pick up order. When the staff member answered the phone, they only said "hi", leaving me to question if I was calling George's China Kitchen or a personal phone number. Once I clarified with the employee that I was calling the correct place, I asked if I could place a pick up order. I called at 6 pm but was told that my food would not be ready until between 7-7:30 pm. When I clarified that it was going to take an hour to an hour and a half to prepare my food, the staff member told me yes, but she would call me if it was ready before. I think it's unreasonable to expect me to wait up to an hour and a half by my phone waiting for a call to go pick up my food. Disappointing outcome to trying to order a meal from George's China Kitchen. I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant on to friends and family.
Husband had the Cantonese chow mein. I had combo c My egg roll was only filled with Bean sprouts, the BBQ pork was cooked in too cool oil so all it did was soak in the grease and was cooked too long the pork was dried out almost jerky style, rice was ok. Cantonese chow mein lacked flavour, even with adding soya sauce it lacked flavour and was bland. I thought it would be a good place to try seeing decent reviews.... Boy was I wrong .. Never again
We order from George’s at least once per month. George's is the best Chinese take-away I have ever been to. Their reputation is based on always using the finest ingredients...consistently serving up melt-in-the-mouth meat dishes, the juiciest shrimp, tastiest-ever spare ribs.
Just a takeout place. Food is so and so..Food: 3/5
For over 30 years I've been ordering from George's. Hot, fresh and perfect every time! My family used to live on Lee Ave. right behind their storefront.
Food was excellent but what a terribly long wait! Impossible to get through a single phone line with no call waiting and then even if you are there and order expect to wait up well over an hour - up to 2 hours if you want it delivered. They also share their single phone line with their debit machine as they use - wait for it - dial up internet! Does that even exist? Given the success of the business they would do well to invest a little more in some basic infrastructure to the benefit of their loyal customers.
