We love walking down the shore on the path in Lake Geneva. They have an area that is reserved for dogs only for them to enjoy the lake water. We enjoy watching the dogs swim and play fetch. Lots of things to do in Lake Geneva. Great town but it gets crowded on the weekends.
It was a beautiful day. My English bulldog absolutely loves it. Going there I make it his day. I go shopping. He walks until he gets tired and then I put him in his stroller. We have lunch at a restaurant where we can sit outside
Favorite place to go year round for the beauty, history, lush grounds and not to forget healthy long walks! Fall colors are gorgeous!
You could call this walk around the lake an architecture tour. The houses surrounding the lake are huge with some interesting designs. So if you want to ogle some nice houses while being close to nature and stretching your legs this is a nice route to take
Very nice and super convenient parking. There’s a parking meter off to the side of each area. Where are you can park and take a walk around the lake there’s plenty of places to sit and take a break and enjoy the scenery.
Hiked the full 21/22 miles of shore path in one go on a beautiful day in May- so many amazing properties and gardens and mansions that were jaw-dropping. Honestly, something unique at every turn! Trails go through private properties and each portion of the trail is kept up by the owners- so even the trail itself is unique from section to section! Loved it. Total activity time actual walking was 8 hours 35 min, we took a break for lunch and a few hours later for coffee and stretched every hour. Started at 9:45 am and finished about 7:45 pm
This is a great path that circles all of Lake Geneva. There are lovely private homes to one side of the path and fabulous lake views on the other side. The trail is not completely flat but we did not encounter any steep inclines on the four miles we covered. However, we have been on this path in both Winter and Spring. We found Winter walking a bit rough. The ground cover changes as you go from grass, to gravel, to stones, to wood, etc... It is a narrow path in some places and it is necessary to step aside at times when people are going in the opposite direction. A local told us that the total path covers about 23 - 26 miles and takes about 8 - 9 hours for her family to cover in it's entirety. We're looking forward to trying it soon.
Wonderful place to go and relax and take in nature's beauty and a quaint town too
We did about 3 miles out and back from the library NW. loved the walk and the diversity of the houses, yards and paths. Crazy big money on this lake and so amazing we can enjoy the path. Nice fall day so not many out. But can only imagine what it is like in summer if they are out there trying to enjoy their backyard. Respect their yards while you appreciate the walk. We are going to do another stint today.
We love walking along the shore path at Lake Geneva. It’s fun no matter the season.
