What a lovely resto! Friendly and speedy service, cozy atmosphere and tasty food. We enjoyed everything we ordered. I usually prefer salad dressing on the side but our server reassured me it won’t be drenched and it would be better if the dressing is “massaged into” the kale and she was right! The salad was perfectly dressed and I’m glad she let us know. The pizza was really well made. 4 stars because there’s a surcharge to pay with credit & bacon in the pasta sauce was fatty and soft personal preference is extra crispy which I realize is not possible in pasta sauce unless it’s sprinkled on top…
Went there for the first time and it was definitely not the great experience and when I expressed the same to the owner, he was courteous enough to invite us for the meal and made some recommendations from the menu. Did my opinion change? To be honest we were bowled over, mark my words if you are looking for a mushroom/ veggie lasagna, first of all it’s not an item you will easily find anywhere in Toronto but GATTO nails it and how and for the pizza we stuck to the classic Margarita topped with some chillie oil on top of it, it elevates the taste to another level. Many thanks to the owner of this place for listening to the feedback and took time to reach out and offer such a spectacular experience. And last but not the least the server I forgot her name but she was amazing and on top of everything to ensure we have amazing experience. We will be back again soon
Ordered takeout during the weekday lunch hour. Host was friendly and it wasn’t busy so my order was fairly quick. I ordered the meatballs appetizer and the Bloor West pizza. The meatballs were underwhelming. I expected large, round meatballs, but instead they were on the smaller size and looked like spaghetti and meatballs without the spaghetti. The marinara sauce, however, was tasty. The pizza was cooked well in the wood oven. The taste was just ok as there was too much sauce drizzled, and I didn’t see any basil as per the menu description. Overall I was disappointed and didn’t feel it was good value for the price. I probably will not return.
Environment is really nice. Good is awesome, the pizzas are great and the truffle lasagna no words. The menu is not very extensive in terms of pasta dishes, but what is ther is really good.Food: 5/5
Had the pleasure of dining here on Christmas eve, when no other place was open after 6pm. They were really busy with online orders but they still let us in. We were more than glad that our Christmas dinner was nice and warm and didn’t end up being sad turn of events. We did have to wait for our food which is understandable. Cocktails are bit expensive. Overall had a good time. Cheers to our server that night. Thanks a lot!
Found my new favourite place for pizza and pasta! Wood oven pizza Photographed are the 2312 bloor st west pizza, the penne alla vodka and their house-made gnocchi with creamy garlic Parmesan sauce WHICH I highly recommend.
Decided to stop off at Gatto in the blue West Village. Food was very good staff and service was excellent definitely recommend it would definitely come back. They do user real wood fired ovenFood: 5/5
I absolutely loved my pizza 2312 Bloor St with truffle and ricotta... absolutely amazing, and the dough was just right.Food: 5/5
Had the truffle lasagna. It was absolutely amazing, lived up to the hype. However, just slightly disappointed because I feel like the lasagna was cooked much earlier during the day and we came in around 8 pm. The top layer of the lasagna was hard like it had been heated multiple times. Other than that, it was good! Vegetarian options: They had some vegetarian options which was good!
Had a pizza party from here and the selection of pizzas is amazing. The taste of a wood pizza oven cant be matched by pure metal pizza ovens, but unfortunately the difference between cooked and burnt is less then a minute. Theres a decent selection of pies here from multiple veggies to different cured meats. Overall they all tasted well except some of the crust had burnt pieces which were charred.
