Thanks Gateway for helping my cat Stampede. He had to have his eye removed, so sad. They gave him a great chance for survival and a long life. Super big thanks to the staff for a really good job and for being so supportive.
The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. They made my pup feel much better about getting a check-up. Victor was awesome to have as a veterinarian! He was ready and will to answer all questions I had as well as give great advice! Highly recommend Gateway Veterinary Services and I will continue to use them :
I found Gateway veterinary services to be very professional and courteous. They treated my dog with absolute respect as well as myself. I will travel there any day that my Yorkshire terrier is sick. I could not get into any veterinarian services in Prince Albert so I called Gateway veterinary and they said bring him in and we will look after him as soon as we possibly can. Thank you so much for all you did for my dog Teddy and I.
I was very pleased with the level of care and kindness at Gateway Veterinary Clinic. My dog has had issues for which I was told by previous owner for which there is no cure due to his anxiety. Wrong! My dog was prescribed meds by Gateway Vet and it appears to have cleared up up the issue and I’m hoping it’s a permanent fix. So happy about this, thank you to the veterinarian caregivers at Gateway!
We drive an hour to Gateway and it's worth every penny of the gas to have such helpful, personalized care. Dr Victor, the vet techs, and the reception staff are always caring, attentive, and willing to explain and answer questions. I always feel like my two girls are in good hands. During the early stages of a chronic health concern with one of the girls, I texted and called frequently with questions. I was never made to feel as if this was an inconvenience, even though I'm sure it kind of was - instead, they were with me every step of the way. Thank you to Gateway for being such a great clinic. I will never go anywhere else.
Can't believe my experience today, especially considering all of these amazing reviews. I called Gateway Veterinarian Services regarding my two very sick dogs, and luckily they were able to take us today. After driving over an hour to the clinic, we saw Dr. Victor. He explained that one of my dogs should be fine with time, but my dog Charlie would need medication to get better he isn't doing well. This process was fairly smooth and I was glad to be getting help. However, BEFORE injecting my dog with any medication, I asked how much this would cost. Dr. Victor stared at me blankly and said "don't worry about it" and kind of laughed me off and continued to position my dog for injection. There was another woman in the room that could confirm this conversation. When I asked for clarification for an amount, he said "it shouldn't be a lot" and then continued to inject my dog with the medication. AGAIN, I asked how much and that I can't afford a lot he said "you're going to be more upset if he doesn't get better". I didn't even know what to say at the multiple arrogant responses, none of which gave me a total besides saying "not a lot". After the injections and handing me more pills, I went to the receptionist who showed me a bill of $485. Not everyone can afford a bill of almost $500, so no, this IS "something to worry about". An unexpected bill of $500 to some people means they now can't afford rent. So, yes $500 is "a lot". Also was charged for an "emergency" visit, which was not what we had discussed on the phone. Be clear with your pricing, and humble yourself to your clients. Not everyone is making 6 figures annually. If this would have been disclosed beforehand - I would've had time to discuss different alternatives, said no to a certain medication, or even seen if I even had the money in the first place for you to inject my dog. Communication was not there, and now I am in a tough spot. I was made to feel guilty if I had said no to anything. I already left a message with the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association based on a clear violation of Professional Standards of Care and Conduct.
It's unfortunate that Prince Albert doesn't have enough vets to be able to see pets in a more timely manner. However, I was happy to get an appointment at Gateway Veterinary Services within days as an emergency visit for my cat, who is asthmatic and was having trouble breathing. This cat can get quite spicy around vets, but they were very calm and professional, toweling her in order to listen to her chest and giving her a shot of antibiotics, along with some extra medication to help with her asthma. I'm happy to say she's back to her usual self now, full of energy and purring away :
Professional yet comfortable! In sync from one desk to another - one employee to the next! Thorough. Gentle. Caring. Genuine. Supportive of pet owners opinions or questions, concerns! Excellent care of my pet!!! Very pleased with vet visit and follow up!! Everything 150%!!!
Victor and the staff at gateway always go above and beyond to ensure my animals are well taken care of as well as making any aftercare instructions very easy to understand and execute. They’re all very knowledgeable and willing to help and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
