This is a rustic lodge, not a traditional hotel. Its ambiance is striking the moment you walk in, and continues throughout. Though older, the rooms are immaculate and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The Gateway offers trap shooting, golf and ATV trails, and the staff is happy to put you in touch with guides for fishing and other sport. I could not have enjoyed this experience more.

Outstanding experience! Insanely rustic and amazingly clean. The staff were top notch and were always there to help or give you historical background. Cannot say enough about how great this place is!

The Midwest Bonanza Society (Beechcraft flying club) had a weekend fly-in, Aug 3-6, 2017. Runway(s) in great shape, next to the lodge, low fuel prices & a courtesy van. Randy Ruth, airport mgr, provided facilities & supplies for our hangar BBQ on 8/4/17. Jeff Rohr of Rohr's Wilderness Tours provided transportation, to/from lodge, rentals, & lunch fish fry for our canoe/kayak trip down the Wisconsin River on 8/5/17. The pool/spa, clay shooting, golf course were top notch. We ended our weekend with a superb dinner in the Lodge restaurant with great wait staff. This was our group's FOURTH trip to this neat Lodge! 5+++STARS

Great value! Studio room, late hours for pool/hot tub/sauna area use and nice light breakfast.
