Garmin earned a rare five star customer service moment from me. I use a Venu 3S and recently needed help, with my charging port not working right. The experience was fast, clear, and genuinely human, I did not wait for hours hint to many companies that fail us on regular basis - Big Banks, telus, rogers and others.... The process was surprisingly easy from start to finish, with great communication and no back and forth. It is the kind of customer service I honestly thought was gone. Really impressed and happy to recommend Garmin.
Purchased a Garmin watch from Amazon as a Christmas gift. Arrived looking used, thrown into a big box with another item I had purchased, not shrink wrapped or sealed in any way. Sleeve was loose in box. Successfully returned to Amazon for a refund. Purchased the same watch from Costco online hoping for a better outcome. Delivered by UPS. Also came with no shrink wrap, not sealed, and the sleeve is totally beat up. If I'm spending hundreds of dollars on a watch, I expect it to arrive looking new. From their website, it looks like Garmin is attempting to limit it's plastic use - great initiative but maybe first design a package that can withstand the shipping process.
Terrible hardware failures that they only warranty for one year. My forerunner 955 lasted 2.5 years before they said they would sell me a refurbished one if I shipped it back to them. My edge 530 is also now not able to provide accurate data just 2 years after purchase. For such expensive devices they are far from premium quality.
EDIT: they reached out to replace the watchnDisappointing experience. I have owned Garmin watches for years, and enjoyed them. I purchased a Fenix three years ago, and it's started to develop issues and freezing during activities. I reached out to their support team, and the only option offered to fix their product is for me to pay almost $400 for a refurbished watch, rather than to fix or replace my broken one.
Bought vivosmart 4 just over an year ago. Warranty expired just 2 month ago. Fault with bluetooth connection and garmin is unable to do a paid repair or replacement instead they say 20% off on new device.nnWhy will I buy a new device, if garmin can't support a product which was sold just over an year ago?nnBad customer service. This should be my last garmin device and I will never recommend garmin to others.
