Booked a cab for 4:15AM to YVR, driver never showed up and had to call Richmond Taxi. Tried to call the number but never got to anyone, just had music playing for 10 minutes. Richmond Taxi is the way to go - estimated wait time was 10 minutes, but they got here before that.
Called for the first time and I was happy to see one cab arrive in less than 10 minutes. Driver was courteous and got me to my destination very quickly. After I gave him a tip, he not only thanked me, but went as far as saying I had made his day.
I had the worst experience with Garden City Cabs! I normally always go to and from the airport by Uber, but our flight was delayed and got in just after midnight on Sunday so my wife and I decided to just take a cab. Got a cab from the lineup at arrivals and told the driver our address in east Richmond. He didn’t know where that was!… how can he be a taxi driver in Richmond and not know an address on River Road! I had to give him directions all the way to our address! He didn’t turn the meter on and I know there is a flat zone fee schedule so I don’t say anything! When we finally reached home I asked how much and he said give me $55!… the posted flat fare to our zone is $31!… when I brought that up to him he said he didn’t know it’s flat fare system!. I looked it up on my phone and showed it to him…. he still said he didn’t know. I find this totally unacceptable! I gave taking a taxi again against my better instinct and again I was very disappointed! Poor English! doesn’t know directions! Doesn’t turn meter on! Tries to rip me off! I I think Garden City Cabs should terminate this driver… I have a feeling he wasn’t the registered driver to this cab… he just didn’t know anything about being a driver . I will go back to Work Uber!
Get rid your dispatcher! Called in on June 26th approximately 8am. Answering a business line with a lazy “Hello?” Is unacceptable and unprofessional. I called in to request a cab and the dispatcher just said “Okay” and hung up. Didn’t ask my name, didn’t say what the ETA was. And needless to say the Cab didn’t show up.
Worst customer service! guy working at dispatch too much attitude on the phone and clueless, he said cant find the address. Instead of doing his job properly he just say "call other cab company" and hang up! Attention: to the owner of this business! If you have a person like that answering dispatch calls, he is one of the reason you are losing business and getting bad reviews!
Very disappointed in this company. I wouldn't ever recommend you guys. I call for someone to come boost me, and then when the guy goes to start my car he locked the key in my car. So now I had a dead battery and no way of getting in my car . And all the driver said to me was , call a two truck they will unlock it and then drove away. I called the the office and the man I spoke to told me to get in touch with the manager and he gave me an email. I emailed the manager two or three times and never recieved any response from him. I ended up having to pay 80 dollars for a two truck company to come unlock my car and boost me and not once did it concern you guys .
We have used this taxi company a couple of times while visiting Richmond and needing a cab from the ferries. Always a positive experience. Two drivers sorry, don't remember your names were friendly, attentive and excellent drivers. We were happy to tip generously! The cars were clean, with no smoke or heavy fragrance smells, also appreciated. Glad to see them at the ferry terminal upon arrival. Keep up the good work.
Called for a cab to the airport and dispatch told me it will be 15-20 minutes. I told him that’s fine but if it was gonna be longer then I’d call another company since we need to catch a flight. He told me it won’t be more than 20 minutes. Around 17 minutes after the initial call, a driver called me and said he is on his way from the airport now and will be 10-15 minutes. I told him that the dispatcher told me it will be 20 minutes max! And he then said “yes but I’m coming now so you want to wait or not?” Clearly at this point we didn’t have much choice and not going to risk missing our flight. About 10 minutes later, a driver showed up and we got into the cab thinking this is the one we ordered. When we almost got to the airport, the same driver called and asked me if we were out front. I told him I thought he was there and got into a cab already and almost at the airport - I should also mention that this is almost 50 minutes after I got off the phone with dispatch. At this point, the driver got furious and started swearing at me and saying “I told you I was coming, don’t do that”. Excuse me, but I do not need to be scolded by someone who is 30 minutes late to pick me up to the airport just so we can miss our boarding time. This is ridiculous how disorganized the cab companies operate in this city. Cannot wait for Uber and Lyft to drive them out of business
