Great bar and restaurant. Love it. The food is amazing and the beer selection is awesome. The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is really cool. The staff actually seem to enjoy being here and interacting with customers.
Cozy neighborhood bar within walking distance for me at least. The service is top notch and much appreciated. Allison was very attentive and gave my daughter copious amount of crayons for her coloring journey during lunch. Beer selection was great will come back. Thank you much.
I can’t say enough good things about Galewood Pub. My family frequents Galewood and we always have a wonderful experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. Recently we hosted a milestone birthday party for my mother here and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had working with a restaurant to organize an event. Genie and her staff were so helpful and so generous which made my Mom’s party something truly special. Many of our friends & family in attendance were experiencing Galewood for the first time and they all had an absolute blast and will definitely be back. Galewood delivers every time and I can’t wait to go back again soon!
So I'm sorry to be this way but it's no different than previous ownership. Mediocre quality food and relatively forgettable. So we had the intention of having lunch but ordered an appetizer and realized that it wasn't going to be what we were looking for at that moment so we finished our drinks and bailed. The bartender was super nice and for lunch was generally quiet and very chill which was great but honestly, I'd be happier grabbing fast food. Wasn't awful but wasn't worth even the stop personally. Won't be back.
Asked for extra butter for our baked potatoes and was charged 7.50 for 4 pieces of butter. When we questioned it we were told a sad story about the prices going up. Not that much! I could have gotten a lb of butter for less than 7.50. We were regulars here. Loved the food and atmosphere but not willing to be taken advantage of. Won’t be back.
Great place. Enjoyed the owner who was our server. Really good food. Go try it! Went back again last night and Erik waited on us, he was awesome!
Management needs a serious overhaul. They’re unwilling to accept any kind of critique, which blows my mind since the location is as valuable as it is. It’s been on the market on Zillow for months. Go for the wait staff, they’re generally cool. Leave after a beer.
Not good. Allow me to elaborate. I’ve been a handful of times and it’s been mediocre, on the best days. For starters, I ordered the patty melt listed for $14 on menu. CPU tab came out and had a $15 dollar charge for the same item. That’s not the end of the world - but $14 dollars for meatloaf is a special? The steak is like 3 bucks more than a standard entree which averages damn near $16 per? Frankly, the items cost the price of a West Loop item without even being near the quality. You are better off getting a cheaper and better meal at Legends, Jackson Ave, Eviva, Wheatstack, Paisans. It’ll also be a better experience. My hope, ultimately, is that this place gets purchased and replaced, especially since I’m local. Just read the owner’s responses to negative reviews or anything even the least bit critical/feedback related. It’s like the kind of place you’d see on “kitchen nightmares” or “bar rescue.”
I have never have had a bad meal here!!! Ever time I come , the staff is amazing and the food is better than amazing!! Just had the NewYork strip with broccoli cooked perfectly and my friend had the Brisket which she raved about!! This is one of the only places you can find Kona Porter Pipeline on tap!!
Food is so great. Alcohol is decent as well. The feeling that you are more than welcomed and part of the Galewood family is the best part. Staff is amazing!
