We went there with a newborn and almost 3 year old and loved it. We arrived for an early dinner so it wasn't very full. The service was attentive. I couldn't find a change table but they happily made me space in the closed bar area to change my baby. The food was unbelievable. The fries are that perfect greasy but crispy mix and the burger was on an exquisite bun. My son powered through his entire kids meal burger and loved it. The beer was excellent as well. We'll be going back!

Rather a pleasant place to hang out after work or, in my case, when visiting from out of town. Great menu, great drink selection and very tasty. The food came fast for us. The drinks as well. Service with a smile in a very nice setting. Their stoubt was really well done as was their selection of other in house brews. I will certainly be back as this is one of the best values in the area. Fantastic Burger.

A nice brew pub, with good atmosphere. While the salad was good, the sausages and sauerkraut was very good. Their beer was exceptional. While it is winter now, and the seating inside was adequate, I think this place would shine in the summer, with two decks, upstairs and down. Word of caution. The Russian Imperial Stout is not for the faint of heart, and certainly not for the last beer of the evening!

Excellent environment, excellent service, and excellent food, need I say more?! With all the 4 and 5 star reviews, I doubt mine will add any additional critique or applause for this fine establishment, but seeing as I did enjoy the experience, I'd highly recommend Gainsbourg to anyone else who happens to visit the Gatineau area. My review is a little late, as I went almost a year ago, in May, as part of a conference in Ottawa. I went with a few of my colleagues for dinner, and we happened upon the Gainsbourg, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There is an in-house distillery, and though I had a regional cider, the beer was well-received by my colleagues. The food was excellent, and filling, and the place was clean and cozy, while not being stuffy. The waitress was excellent, and friendly, and even though I had been hesitant to use my limited French while in Quebec, I felt welcome to try with her. All in all, it was an excellent experience, and I would definitely come back again!

The environment is cozy, and welcomes everyone. The atmosphere is excellent for a get together. If you are coming here just for the food. I would not recommend this to be your first choice. Although the presentation of the food on a wooden board gave off an authentic vibe, the food was sub-par for the price. The burger I ordered was bland, the beef wasn't seasoned well. The bun wasn't toasted, and did not have a good structural integrity. The fries were not crispy, they were mostly soggy as if they were left in the fryer to too long. One positive thing I can say is the selection of drinks, apart from regular beers, they have a large variety of shots and other drinks. I would recommend this place just for the drinks and the environment.
