When you can't go or don't have the time to go to a farmer's market, Fruiterie 440 is the next best thing. Very well organized store, clean, fruits and vegetables are well stacked, cashiers are very efficient.
Good price for produce. But credit cards are not accepted.
Great prices, fresh fruit
Nice clean produce store. The prices are average. Some of the fruits taste like cardboard like the honeydew melon I bought... totally tasteless. Got a papaya a week ago... same thing, no taste. But also got organic blackberries and those tasted great so it's a hit or miss... a "Fruiterie" should care more for their main product's quality. 3 stars.
Just remember only cash or debit card.
Everything you would need in one place to make a nice dinner. Fruits and vegetables in the fruit store. Then you have a meat shop or if you fancy sausages there is a sausage shop. There is a cheese shop as well. And for dessert there is an amazing pastry shop on site. I recommend this place. Check it out yourselves.
Went into this fruit store November 2020. The store is attractive with a good selection. However, I was disappointed at the quality of the produce I bought. The clementines from Morocco that come in the box were dry. It was like eating cardboard. The cucumbers that looked good became all bumpy, soft and watery after two days in the fridge. It was so difficult to peel the skin off. Very disappointed in the quality of the produce!
I waited before writing a review. But every time I go, and I ask a question, they are rude and unhelpful. Last time I asked if there were more parsley in the back because the ones there were yellowish, he told me no. And 10 minutes later, there were some brand new parsley. Today I asked if there were peppers in a bag, and instead of being helpful, he simply said, very rudely, they should be there, look again. I don't understand, I'm in your store, the least you can do is be more helpful! Their produce are ok and at a reasonable price. The cashiers I dealt with were super nice. But unfortunately, the 2 encounters I had on the floor made the rating go from a 4 to a 2.
Place is dirty , it does have a vast variety, prices are ok, but the quality of the produce is not great. Bananas stayed green, peaches tasted as they had froze possibly in the transit, cucumbers lasted in the fridge 2 days only
The prices are great but the quality is shoddy. You often have to rifle through a lot of bad produce to find good stuff. There are certain things I like to buy organic but they have nothing organic here. They also do not take Mastercard or visa which is a major pain in the butt for me. The parking is also usually quite busy so it is not an easy in and out.
