Staci is the best server! She remembers what we preferred to drink, even what creamer I prefer! And MOST importantly, she keeps my coffee topped off. All the ladies, from the efficient table clearing people to the competent waitstaff are friendly and smile. Food is plentiful, American cuisine, coffee is hot! The biscuits are divine!!! Prices are very reasonable, atmosphere is family oriented and friendly. This is a home-cooking, small town, older locals hangout kind of restaurant. One where you can catch up with your neighbors, have a good cuppa and hoover down Aunt Adalen's quick hearty breakfast before leaving to finish morning chores.
Overall, the atmosphere was slow paced, friendly, and reminds me of my childhood. The food was decent. Everything was fresh, and served hot. The menus were simple, with no flare. The floors were clean as were the tables and chairs. While the kid's menu had prices, the adult menu was not as forthcoming. Overall, i would eat there again...
Met someone there for a short meeting before breakfast and the server was very patient with us until we finished our discussion then happily took our order. Hotcakes were huge and delicious. Definitely give them a try. All the locals do! Food: 5/5
This place looks like a definite locals hang out. I thought that was cool. Everyone seeming like they knew each other. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. So nice you could picture working there and having fun, chatting up the locals and looking forward to the camaraderie each day. Now, I've only had the one sandwich so I can't say how the rest of the menu is.....but the locals weren't complaining. Anyway I liked my sandwich. It was like a cross between a Philly cheese steak and a French dip. Yummy. Fries we're perfectly crisp on the outside tender on the inside. Also the salad bar, tho small, looks fresh with plenty of toppings to choose from. From Missoula it's a bit of a drive but from Lolo Florence and Stevensville it seems fine. I'll definitely try few more things on the menu when I'm in town. If for nothing else, it would be nice to join the others and feel like a local.
Excellent staff with great food. Grand kids loved all the horse decor. Great selections on the menu for all ages. Worth the stop while traveling on Highway 93.Food: 5/5
My daughter and I ate here and OMG!!!! My daughter ordered the Steak and Shrimp Combo and I had the Fried Chicken. The steak was done well done and JUICY. My daughter cut into it and the juices just ran. It was soooo good. The fried chicken was just as good. It was tender and juicy as well and I HIGHLY recommend Frontier Cafe over CJ's Den any day. The service is 100 times better and the food is exceptional.
My daughter and I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was sooooo good. It was juicy and the gravy was tasty. I ordered French fries and they were so crispy. Our waitress was Jamie and can she hustle. She did well and despite her being incredibly busy, she still attended to us as a waitress should.
Good pork chop dinner and chicken sandwich with tater tots. One of few places open around 3pm. We like locals places like this. We will probably return for breakfast, which the excellent waitress Heather says is very good.
Good food, friendly atmosphere and great service! You want bang for your buck! This is the place for you!
Service was sub par. The waitress didn't say hello. Took forever to get us coffee, and had a bad attitude. The food was amazing though. Big portions worth the price verbally pressured to tip the waitress, even though there really wasn't any service
