This is a wonderful little gathering place for breakfast or lunch you have to get there before 2:00 or the kitchen closes down due to staffing. They have a wonderful bakery you can buy stuff from. As you can see in my pictures there's lots of places to sit outside and your kids can play on the playground and I thought everybody just like eating that's a great place to bike your family too or just bike yourself. I'm going to try to go there in the morning for breakfast but I bought a piece of carrot cake and it was just so wonderful
Local residents may not want this gem to become too well known as I can imagine that they want to keep it to themselves. I was recommended to the Frog Peak Cafe by friends in Castlegar who regularly make the pilgrimage to this delicious Mecca. I’m visiting from the west coast and can attest that the Frog Peak is one of my best food experiences. Looking at the menu, they had me at Eggs Benny, so I ordered the Sunshine that includes avocado, tomato, and sunflower sprouts. It also came with a generous helping of pan seared potatoes. I added a mocha to the order for the perfect breakfast. I judge restaurants by their eggs Benedict and I wasn’t disappointed. The Hollandaise sauce was silky smooth and delicious. The potatoes were crispy and hot, and I must admit I anointed them with my childhood addiction of ketchup. The Mocha stayed wonderfully hot long enough for me to linger with it after the breakfast was gone. The staff were very friendly and the vibe is funky cafe with a diverse collection of interesting signs, memorabilia and odd bits. It is more than worth the detour even if you aren’t heading up the Slocan Valley. Just turn off 3A and head up a short distance to this lovely cafe. You will be glad you did.
Delicious food. Best lunch in the area. High quality ingredients used including whole grain bread. All of their soups are exquisite. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast and lunch.Recommended dishesPaninis
Wonderful food and a beautiful spot! Will be keeping this in mind for the next time I'm out this way!! It's absolutely worth the drive!!
The only downside to this restaurant is our opposing schedules. Failing to check online hours can lead to dissappontment as we have missed the boat 4 different times. The sign says all day breakfast but you might be out of luck for eggs benedict if you come too late in the day. I would say that theirs is in the top 2 I have ever had in my life. I would have liked an extra order of egg to satisfy my hunger or some extra potatoes. The curry ketchup was definitely amazing! The chai tea was ordinary but milky. We returned the following day but once again did not read the play on the hours -- so we will come again another day. Price is on the upper end and if the portions were slightly bigger they would match perfectly.
This place doesn’t need another 5 star review but it’s was SO good I had to. Great food, great vibes - all around awesome. Benny Sushi bowl You can bring your dog as long as they are on a leash and it’s great for kids. There’s a little park/garden area to play in. Awesome patio and cozy inside as well. Defs worth a stop or a trip over to grab some tasty food and bevy’s
Super lovely space with plenty of art and lots of natural light. The staff is super friendly and the spot seems to be really popular! The food portions were surprisingly big for the price and were absolutely delicious. Has a really nice vibe and seems to be kid friendly. They had a couple passive environmental and local fundraisers running when I was visiting too!
We loved the outdoor seating and all the super fun and groovy decorations! The matcha was incredible. Great soup and paninis as well!
Absolutely loved the Huevos Rancheros. Best anywhere!Food: 5/5
