I stayed here for a little less than a month. I was supposed to stay here for 9 months but I did not like it. It is very okay if you’re just going to spend a couple of weeks in London but I do not think is great long term. If you’re looking for a fun hostel experience this is not the place, since other people staying there are not very friendly. Kitchen is ok, no pots or pans or plates or cutlery you have to have your own, but everything else kettle, toaster, oven, etc. worked perfectly. It is clean enough. Rooms get cleaned once a week. Somedays it’s good, somedays it is not so good. It depends. Everyone in the reviews says that the mattress was too thin but I think it was alright. The bed is tiny, though. And I am 5’1. Also no overnight guests are allowed. WiFi connection is good, the temperature is nice, there’s hot water and a roof over your head. And that’s it. Thank you to the staff!
Given the price of accommodation in London this is reasonable for what you get. The bed is tiny though, smaller than a single I would say. But the rooms are spacious, with ample storage. Having your own ensuite was great. I was worried about the reviews about stealing but I had the cleaner every week and never had a problem, although I could see most rooms did not want the cleaners. Something management should really address. Overall if you're on a budget this place is welcoming with a clean shared kitchen, and enough cupboard and fridge space. Please note there's no shared utensils etc.
I stayed at Friendship House for about a month, only moving to another LHA location to have a studio with private kitchen. The stay was such an enjoyable experience, all the staff and team are very nice, helpful and accommodating, the room has a beautiful view and is very quiet compared with the other LHA location. I enjoyed my stay here! However if I were to stay for longer term I might have to request to change the mattress, its a bit too thin to my liking
I stayed here for over 9 months. As a student, the place was very affordable and is very accessible to other things such as transport and shops. It was just a 15 min walk to KCL campus. The staff were super nice and helpful. The maintenance of rooms and amenities is excellent. I got lucky to have nice neighbours too. Would totally recommend this place!
Soooo I was really enjoying my stay at the Friendshiphouse! The room was super clean and the bed was so comfortable. Whatsmore the lovely people working there were super nice and friendly. Everytime I needed some help I was so lost haha they were instantly there for me and I never felt like they were in a hurry or something like that. I am really looking forward to my next visit! The location is just perfekt and very very central. Kind regards, Anja
I stayed in Friendship House for nearly 3 months and can really recommend it. The staff is super nice and helped me out especially when I had to stay in quarantine because of Covid. It was possible to make changes to the booking only one week ahead which is why it was possible to spontaneously move out, when I decided to travel for two weeks. The rooms are simple but clean and there is a cleaning service once a week. Finally, the house is located quite central and has a yard where you can lock a bike. It is really hard to find a room in London if you stay for less than three months, so I'm really glad I found friendship house and in comparison to other accomodations it was relatively cheap especially the shared rooms.
A really good place if you are close to homelessness, you have a bad credit or no recommendations. They usually charge rates above market for the areas of their locations, but you can get out of contract within a week notice. I had things missing from my room and nobody answer my calls or my emails. Their staff are overwhelming immigrants working part-time for accommodation resembling modern slavery which couldn't care less about customer service or even basic courtesy. They will enter the rooms unannounced, they have the right to kick you out with no explanation, and rise the prices at will, by posting an announcement at the house boards!!!
I stayed at Friendship House during 3 months, I really enjoyed the location near Waterloo station, the staff who is very nice and the fact that we can pay each week for the next one. I recommend this place especially for students 20 min from Kings college campus and 2 min from Southbank university.
I had great experience living here for 1 year during my study. It was a perfect place for students with a lot of facilities: nice laundry room, gym, and convenient study room. The location is very central, very clean, and I am feeling safe and secure. I am delighted with the service from all the staffs there. Thank you very much Paolo, Manne Manny, and others sorry if the spelling is wrong for being kind, friendly, easy-to-reach, and helpful. During the pandemic, this accommodation takes all necessary and essential steps to ensure all tenants keep safe and healthy, including wearing face masks, payment by card only, and 1 person only in elevator. Highly recommend this accommodation.
Great prices especially for location and responsive receptionists. The rooms are a decent size and well fitted with mini-fridges. I often run into personal issues but their patience was comforting
