My husband, best friend and I went to Frida last evening for my birthday. We were greeted by a friendly host and we’re immediately seated in a comfy booth. The freshly hot chips and homemade salsa were put in the table as we sat down, and our water stayed full the entire time. The friendly server Guadaloupe was attentive for our entire visit and made great recommendations. We had appetizers, meals, cocktails and dessert, all of which were prepared perfectly, and with so much flavor! The food and drinks are outstanding. We had an awesome time and will definitely be back. The decor is awesome too! Vegetarian options: Lots of options Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair access Dietary restrictions: Our friend is gluten intolerant and she was able to have what she wanted, and loved that the delicious empanadas are gluten free!
Honestly it was very disappointing eating here! Let me start by saying the staff is very nice but the food just wasn’t it for us. They give you chips and salsa to start you off and I was already turned off the salsa had no flavor. We then decided to try the empanadas and they were also extremely bland. My best friend ordered the quesadilla and basically left it all, they give you a small shot style cup with pico de gallo and another one with sour cream she said it was not good at all! I on the other hand had the birria tacos and those were good nothing out of the ordinary but at least those had flavor. And lastly my best friend enjoyed her drink she said it was nice and strong and the flavor was good. We won’t be returning here our bill was $65 and not worth it to us.
I tried - veggie burrito Enchiladas guacamole Huarache Tres Leches Cake Each dish was delicious and heavy! I liked how everything can be made vegetarian. Staff is friendly and overall the vibe is great!
Went for the first time for dinner. Small place but great ambience. We were sitter right away but came at the right time as right after us there was a wait for others. It is small seating area. Drinks were great and pretty! Food was good, wasn’t too impressed with it though. Sopes were more on bland side. My husband enjoyed his fajitas. Salsa they gave tasted more like marinara sauce. We got churros for dessert were yum!
I only recently heard of Frida before I visited for lunch this past weekend, and I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about it! This is such a cute hidden gem in West Hartford. The murals dedicated to Frida Khalo were absolutely beautiful and really stood out. The watermelon mocktail was super refreshing, but when the staff noticed I was going to leave with some still in my glass, they offered to get me a to-go cup, which I thought was so sweet! My boyfriend had a mezcal flight, and we thought it was so cute that they came in little pots. The Colombian style empanadas tasted great - I’ve never had this style of empanada before, but they were mostly filled with potato. Homemade tomatillo and habanero sauces made for a great pairing with these. The queso dip was phenomenal because it had just the right of jalapeño mixed in for flavor, but it wasn’t overly spicy. For my meal, I ordered the Gringa off of the tortillas section. I chose this because I thought pineapple, pastor meat, and cheese were an interesting combination, and it definitely was, so much so that it almost reminded me of apple pie! My boyfriend’s platter of steak and shrimp was delicious, and we loved the rice and refried beans on the side. Our servers were extremely attentive with refilling water and making sure we had everything we needed. Such a great experience!
The food is delicious. I went on a date Wednesday night before thanksgiving and they had a thanksgiving word game. A nice lady gave us a free passion fruit margarita in a soccer bowl cup and we got dessert on the house because we got all the words in the word game. It was so much fun! I recommend going to Frida’s.Recommended dishesMixed Ceviche
Enjoyed my visit to Frida's. The food and drinks were good. The chef did forget some things from two of the dishes we ordered, but the waitress brought them out when we mentioned it and apologized.Dine in: Yes
We love to try new restaurants and this was one of it. Beautiful spot but the food was tasteless. I used to live in Arizona where the Mexican food is very authentic nd delicious this place comes zero no none when it comes to Mexican “Cuisine” the prices are outrageous expensive. Last time visiting this place. Parking: Good space
I came here alone on a whim. Best choice I made. Food is fantastic and the service was too. Let’s not forget the drinks. You get courtesy chips and salsa as you wait for your meal and the drinks were made to perfection. I ordered a or 3 margarita picante and they were perfect. Ms. Kerra thank you! Kid-friendliness: There were children in the restaurant that were off no bother and seemed to be enjoying themselves Parking: Parking seemed plenty for an afternoon stop.
Quality real authentic Mexican dishes delicious tasty mouth watering food HOT SAUSE never taste before
