A very pleasant surprise! Checked out this little gem one at Sunday noon when we had...
Ordered the Chicken Banh Mi which was excellent. The peanuts and the spicy sauce they used was what set it apart from Red Pepper. 10/10 would come back.
You walk in, you order your food, they make it quick, it’s priced reasonable & delish. What more could you ask for. Highly recommended. It’s like a Thai version of subway, but small hole in the wall mom and pop goodness that makes it a true gem.
Best Banh Mi in Saskatoon. I don’t get downtown often at lunch, but when I do I make sure I pick one up. The rolls are great too.Recommended dishesGrilled Pork, Shrimp Roll, Sate Beef Submarine Sandwich, Special Combination Banh MI
I tried the beef Sate sandwich and the wonton soup. The meat in the sandwich was flavorful and tender and the broth in the wonton soup was delicious. Will definenlty return to try their spring rolls.
I got the Sate Beef and Grilled Pork bahn mi’s. Generous size, amazing flavor. I will certainly be back.
Very good customer service! Our food was made quick and it was delicious! Definitely stopping by again when we are in Saskatoon. We ordered the beef sub, chicken sub and the spring rolls
I can only speak to the vegetarian banh mí. The two adjectives that come to mind to best describe the taste, are tangy and waxy. Whatever ingredient is pickled, is really tangy, borderline sour. The peanuts in the sub give you a waxy feeling on your tongue. Priced at $9 a sandwich, there really isn’t good value for dollar here. I have tried many other vegetarian/vegan banh mí across this continent and unfortunately this one comes in second last. Only because they do include tofu in the sandwich, which saved it from last place. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian sub contains tofu.
Frankie’s is the best!! I crave these sandwiches on the regular. The sautéed chicken or the veggie with tofu are my favourite.
Franky’s is definitely one of the best sandwich places in Saskatoon. The pork and beef are both particularly good. Service is very fast and the food is inexpensive with generous portions. A must-try if you are downtown, and one of my go-to lunch spots.
It's one of those situations where Frankie's banh mi, ruins all other bunh mi after it. So so tasty.
