Nice spot. Quick walk through a golf course but very pleasant and excellent views over the lake. Costs nothing.
Very well maintained historical site. Beautiful views, pleasant walking.
Another National Historic Site checked off! Fort Mississauga is worth a visit if you are at Niagara-on-the-Lake, as it is not too far from the Historic Old Town. This building is full of history and you will definitely enjoy knowing its story and the strategic value it held. I especially enjoyed the views with the fort and the lake side-by-side.nnThe building has recently gone through a renovation in 2020 - 2021, and a walking trail was constructed leading to the shoreline. This is why the building is now in much better shape with the walls intact. A new roof has also been installed on top.nnI hope one day we could see what is inside or have tours at certain times in the week. Winter is a bit harder to come by as the trails are not maintained.
Not much to see but I believe that the building is rich with History. I hope I would someday see what's inside the building since it was closed when I have visited it. Place is almost hidden and I though at first that it's not accessible since it is located inside a golf club. Place is serene though and not much people are in the area. You can also see the view of Lake Ontario along the walkway and view deck.
Nice and beautiful place to visit, absolutely the fort cannot be accessed from inside so that losses the fun to explore more of the history but a good place to just visit and look at the ontario lake and feel the cool air. Missing one star because no parking near the fort just a public spot atlest 1km away and only 8 cars can be parked. The walk near the beach is open for everyone and as well for pets but should be on leash. Park is well mainted and visitors have to be careful while walking as niagara on the lake golf club is adjacent and accidentally any golf ball can hit your head. You hardly spend 10min near the fort but rest of the park is good and nice environment to explore. No tickets needed to visit the fort.
