Because I had my dog, we couldn't visit the fort, but that's not a problem. This village is a feast for all five senses. A great place to see vintage vehicles, and lots of antique shops. We visited the old rail station, which was a favorite of the grandkids, then crossed the bridge and wandered along the Fraser River's edge. Fort Langley is always busy on weekends, but when we visited on Labour Day, it was not bad at all. We lunched at the bistro under the pub, enjoying their peppery calamari while sitting outside at one of their beautifully appointed outdoor booths. A very pleasant day!
What a nice fun place to visit for the whole family! All the staffs are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They even have 5 tentics for rent to stay inside the fort during summer time, so cool! Clean washrooms and big parking lot..Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I can't believe I've never taken the time to visit and explore Fort Langley. Full of historical buildings and exhibits outlining the history of European settlement, the Hudsons Bay company and the relevance of Fort Langley to the story. A fascinating place to visit for a few hours
Interesting fort detailing life as Europeans came to the area. Lots of cool displays with some antiques and some well done replicas. One original building - restored. If you have a national park pass, it's free.
Loved exploring this historic site. It highlights the part of the local history when the first settlers traded items with the first nations. The blacksmith workshop show and walking around the fort walls was my favourite part.
Very cool historical park with lots of activities and things of interest. Blacksmith, kid play area, cooper, panning for gold, farm and farm animals, and a bit more. Friendly and informative staff. Definitely a cool place to learn about the history of Langley.
Canada's government really doesn't do much to support historic sites, and this is one that needs it. The buildings are ok, but there just isn't enough to really engage people. There were 3 'historical interpreters' and only 2 of them spoke to the visitors. Additionally the inside of the main building where you pay was in very poor disrepair one of the toilets in the washroom was literally detached from the floor and there was no soap in the dispensers. This could be so much better if the government would invest more towards these types of historical sites.
If you visit Fort Langley, this national historic site is an interesting place for visiting. We can learn our history through this site. The staff are friendly and helpful. This was a fur trade post of Hudson's Bay Company built in 1827.
Great place to spend Canada day! First capital of B.C. Take the family and look back into history. Overnight stays available in tent structures. So cool! Have fun
Great history lesson about British Columbia and Canada. Worth the $7 ticket and a great way to spend a day. 5 minutes walk to the Downtown Fort Langley. It would be the best if you park at the historic site free parking lots and walking to Fort Langley downtown.
