November 2021 4 This forest therapy trail is connected to the Rouge River, part of Ontarios Greenbelt. The Greenbelt protects formland, forests, wetlands and river valleys which provide us with clean water, fresh air, local food, and keeps our communities resilient. Research strongly supports that Forest Therapy walks can boost the immune system, lower bload pressure, stabilize moods, reduce stress, and improve sleep, while providing many other benefits. This path it's very long and in-between, there are smaller side trails that run a long the river. Only downside, the garbage bins are often quite full. Markham parks should clean it up more often considering the number of people who use this trail.
So nice! I think it goes from Markham village all the way to unionville, mostly paved and shaded trails. It also goes over a dam, quite nice!
This is a great trail for walking and cycling. It’s an Awesome spot for forest cycling specially, beautiful views around. The Parking only on the streets around. There are not public washrooms here. It’s a Stroller friendly trail.
Excellent trail for hiking or biking. Keep an eye on kids when taking the side trail as it's little steep. Street parking only.
When for a hike on this trail today. It was nit busy so was easy to stay away from people. My dog definitely had a good time. It was a little Icy but if you wear the proper attire you’ll be good. The river running through this trail make it seem like you were hours away from the city. Peaceful and beautiful. Would recommend to anymore just looking tj egg out of the house. Also free street parking if anymore was wondering if there is parking
Love taking my dog and the wife here! There are many little legs of the trail which they call “invitations”. It’s great to have such a nice trail so close to home!
Great trail with easy to navigate paths. Stroller and bike friendly. Not very crowded on weekdays.
Amazing for walks/hikes and biking. A little adventure
Such a beautiful and relaxing environment to recharge one's body and soul
Went there in the beginning of April, even in recessed season, you still can find many of natural artworks
