Nice smaller supermarket. Only 1 toilet in washroom. Not a huge selection of certain items but its to be expected with a smaller supermarket. I like smaller places you don't need to walk so far to get your items
Good selection for the small town it is based in. Great fresh bread and great produce/meats. Other businesses in town have shown to sell expired products - foodland does not. I trust that what I purchase here is before its BB date. Friendly and knowledgeable staff Update: They now have redemption of scene points for groceries which is great since there is no local theatre!
Great selection of Products. The Greens I bought at $4.29 a bag were really good.

Foodland needs to better stock sale items. These days people have food insecurities and look forward to what goes on sale each week. Trouble is they dont carry much stock of what is on sale.
Love this store! The employees are so incredibly helpful and friendly. The bakery lady that always had a cookie for my little one would always restore my faith in people! Note to management: Keep your employees happy, they absolutely deserve it!
We love this province and are tourists. I have family and dear friends all over the Island. Deer lake is a frequent stop when we travel here from PEI. Newfoundland is most known for its beautiful welcoming people. Our experience this time going to the Northern Penninsula and returning from is not reflective of Newfoundland hospitality. On our first stop, the cashier argued across us with another cashier about the price of carrots and reluctantly packed our groceries even when we asked if she would prefer that we packed. It was uncomfortable. On the second trip, my husband didn't even get acknowledged, the cashier refused to pack his groceries but the cashier in the next lane happily packed for the next customer. Maybe Deer Lake has had their fill of tourists. We are all hurting from COVID. This behavior was disappointing and not reflective of the heart and soul of Newfoundland. Good help is hard to find but faking a smile can go along way.
