Its located inside aberdeen mall on the first floor. A great place for authentic northeastern chinese food and a quick bite during lunch & dinner. Their pork hock combo is super worth it - a generous amount of melt in your mouth meat & it also comes with chinese veggies for only $14. Stir-fry lamb with cumin is also a must order, super juicy and it’s got a lot of spices. If you are feeling adventurous and want to try something new, they have a fermented bread drink that isnt translated in english on the menu - its called and its a frizzy drink that is slightly sweet and taste like fermented yeast, the ingredients literally have bread in it. Apparently its a very popular drink in the northeast of china in the 80s and its hard to find these days. Definitely give it a try!
As someone who grew up in Northeast China I’ve been searching for good ‘fried pork in scoop ’ for years in Vancouver and sooooo glad to have discovered this place! I’m more on the savory side rather than sweet&sour in terms of this particular dish, and theirs is just perfect to me!! Other dishes are amazing & owner is extraordinarily friendly, will def come back!
It's ashamed that the food is great but the service isn't. The first time I went with our friends, there was a dish that I really liked but had no idea what it was called. When I went there again two weeks ago, I tried to inquire the waitress about the dish by trying to describe the best as I can what I remembered was in the dish. However, the waitress was so rude and kept saying she has no idea what I was talking about and rushing me to order. I seriously doubt if she even know the menu. We sat down with my family for over 20 minutes and we did not have any utensils or water/tea to drink. Finally another waitress gave us some water but no one ever came to check if we ran out or needed to refill. Then half hour later, some other people came in who seems to know the chef/boss, the same rude waitress gave them big jar or water, offered them free drinks, discount, etc. Where we on the other hand were treated so poorly and was served with such bad attitude. We may not know the boss, but we are still customers and should have been treated fairly.
Signature Hot Peppercorn Soup at Foodie Kitchen was perfect for a cold day. The spice level was just right and the broth was rich and flavorful.Food: 5/5
Chicken Stew with Mellea Mushrooms Combo at Foodie Kitchen was a comforting and satisfying meal. The mushrooms added a great depth of flavor.Food: 5/5
Big Real Shabu Shabu at Foodie Kitchen was a great option for sharing. The meat was high-quality and the dipping sauces were delicious.
Very disappointed, heard from media said this is very good Drive all the way from poco to Richmond to try it out rice is very hard feel like overnight, their main recommendation soup tastes really bad not the same favorite as supposed to be.
Very delicious north east of China style restaurant. Let me remember my childhood memory.
