I live nearby, so it’s convenient to go to this food basics location. The cashier at customer service I had today at 12:45 pm was strange. I wanted to send money by western union at this food basics customer service desk. Girl in charge asked us to waite for ten minutes. After 20 minutes waiting, when I wanted to get help from her colleague, she started yelling at me in front of other shoppers. When I asked her to calm down and don’t yell but, she keep doing the same with attitude even with presence of store manager.nShe kept saying why you are bothering another cashier. I was shocked and shaking and surprised of such strange and aggressive behaviour for no reason. She has absolutely no customer service skills I think.nI informed managers of store and I hope they act on my complaint.nIt is not faire to get that much stress out of blue for doing basically simple business.nI think I should inform Western Union as well. Don’t know.
I shop at Loblaws or Walmart but came to Food Basics today as my neighbour said that the 12 pack of Kraft Dinner was on sale and my family and I eat Kraft Dinner once every two weeks.nnMy dad and I had a hard time finding the 12 pack as it wasn't with the other Kraft Dinner packages on the shelf. My dad asked a store employee whose name is Nadeem where to find the Kraft Dinner and he couldn't find it either. The employee asked my dad if he wanted another employee to help and my dad said sure. The second employee was able to find the Kraft Dinner as there was only three or four packs left. A HUGE shout out to Nadeem for his excellent customer service! He really took an interest when we couldn't find the Kraft Dinner and instead of giving up, was able to find another employee to help us. Lately when I've been out shopping, I find customer service verey hard to find. It was so nice to see Nadeem excelling at customer service and caring about the customers.nnThree small things to mention:nn1 I wish there was more Lipton noodle soup options. They only had chicken noodle and didn't have tomato vegetable or chicken vegetable, which are my two favourite.n2 Papa Jack's dill flavour popcorn was a huge disappointment. Hardly had any dill flavour. My dad hates anything with dill flavour, yet he ate this popcorn saying he didn't taste any dill. I know this has nothing to do with Food Basics, but just wanted other people to know if they love dill as much as me.n3 The self-check out takes cash, which I love. I'm not a fan of shelf check outs where they only options are credit cards or debit.
I live nearby, so it’s convenient. The cashier I had today at 1230pm. Was awful, she crashed and banged my purchases, when I asked her to calm down and don’t bang everything, I was of course met the attitude.nShe kept saying no, no,. Not, I’m sorry, just plain aggressive behaviour.nnThe problem your store has is with the cashiers usually. They have attitude and absolutely no customer service skills.nnThe fact that the nasty cashier with attitude will no doubt lose her job to a machine, is fitting. A machine would be more pleasant to deal with than the cashier that is working there right now.
Some prices are competitive. Customer service is the worst, employees congregated in groups talking loudly to each other and ignoring customers. i was lined up on a cash and had to ask the cashier to stop talking to another casher and give the attention to the customer. Other food basics have much better better customer service, much more organized and cleaner.
I like the products but unfortunately, the place is a complete mess. People in fruits & vegetables section digging bare hands into the grapes, berries, cherries making their own bag, just disgusting. They should put employees to check these people. I told employees to check but they do not care. In the parking lot, there is always suspicious people looking at you, or other smoking weed. Baskets are everywhere except where they should be. As II said, this is unfortunate, but I changed for Fresco.
