Amazing weekly deals on various items. Well stocked shelves most of the time. Prices are quite reasonable as compared to the other stores in Timmins. Self checkout kiosks make it quite convenient for checkouts. Overall great shopping experience in this place.

This place has gone downhill. It was much better a decade ago than now. It's the same management, so I don't know what happened. I let them know that one gluten free product has expired over a year ago it was frozen. I handed it to a manager. I went back a while after and that very same product was back in the freezer. They will not get any more of my money.

When I reported to a front cashier that there was mouse feces all over the canned goods she did not care and said that all grocery stores have mouse feces, and that all our food comes that way. Where is the work ethic? I disagree not all grocery stores have food on the shelves covered with mouse feces. I believe it’s unacceptable and laziness. Do the mice run havoc at night at food basics? Or does the staff put the food on the shelves covered with feces? I cannot trust to shop at food basics until this is cleared up, and it makes me wonder how clean is the fresh produce?? Yuck! It’s a good thing there are other owners and grocers in Timmins who care about the health and safety of their customers!

I like doing shopping there for the variety they carry in Asian food frozen and dry. But their fresh produce section is very limited in my opinion. As I was not able to find bean sprouts, fresh coriander, and egg plants there on my recent trip. I hope they can increase their variety in fresh produce as well, and then it will be my one and only grocery stop in Timmins.

This use to be my favorite place to shop. Not anymore. It's dirty, they have very old low quality produce. 2 pineapples were already rotten when I got them home.nRun by New Canadians and you can see they really don't care about what you are getting. I try to keep an open mind but the low quality and less than clean prodice section has really turned me off
