I rarely ever have to write a bad review but if you’re going to shop here do everything in your power to avoid the older woman with a short red pixie cut.nnAfter politely asking for help in the chip aisle since I couldn’t reach the top shelf she offered to grab someone to help as she couldn’t reach either. First lie while walking to the aisle she stepped aside and grabbed a stepper and continued to the section where I needed help with. As she was climbing up I ask if there was any more stock of the specific item and a certain quantity I needed and if speaking to manager would be better for my situation. She scolded me and belittled me with such a loud condescending tone saying “you can’t have that many, you can’t have any of them! We have a limit of 8 for everything in the entire store! I’m going to grab my manager, you can’t do that” second and third lie and stormed off. Within seconds she was back with no manager and climbed back up and started throwing the items into the cart from the top shelf while uttering “you shouldn’t even be getting this many, you can’t do this, we have a limit”nnAfter I ask “where does it say there is a limit of 8 in the store let alone on these items alone?” And she said “it’s a known fact, you can’t have that many. I don’t need to show you, you just can’t have that many, I’ll give you what’s on the shelf and you can deal with that but I can’t give you any more”nnWhile still throwing the items into my cart I stopped her and told her “please stop throwing these into my cart, I don’t need them broken and it’s very rude what you’re doing” and she scolded back “I’m not throwing anything, and I’m not rude you just can’t do this, you’re lucky you’re getting this many anyways” forth liennAs she dismounted from the stepper I continued to tell her that “thank u for helping me but you’re extremely rude and condescending for no reason. There is no sticker or label that says there is a limit of anything on the store or this specific item, if it was such a big problem I don’t understand why you wouldn’t have gotten your manager to help like you initially stated. Instead of yelling at me with misinformation over something so simple” and she continued with “I’m not rude, it’s not my fault you took it that way, I’m just saying you can’t have this many. You got what was stocked on the shelf and that’s all I can do for you” and then continued to storm off huffing and puffing.nnI later asked the cashier at self checkout if the limit was true and say told me “no you can have as much of anything as long as there’s a stock for it and no limit listed on the item” and continued to confirm that this employee has several problems with her attitude towards anyone regardless if you’re polite and nice or just as rude as her. This was later confirmed with the manager as well over the phone, that this lady causes problems even with her own staff. If the union sees this, it should be a sign to make changes to the crappy attitude at this establishment for the better of this community.

I shop at Basics on McLeod on a weekly basis and sometimes in between. I was short of pasta sauce decided to pick up a couple of cans. I checked on Google the store hours for today and it clearly said open until 9pm.nArrived at the store at 6:08 the store was closed. There were many disappointed shoppers like me most of them checked the store hours for today and agreed Google said this location was open till 9pm.nIt's disappointing the information we were given was incorrect.nR. They have all you need for everyday needs. Definitely recommend a visit as their pricing is fair and the quality is relatively good. Lots of options a to choose from.nnWe went in for groceries and it was all well organized, we were out of there in no time. The staff and service was great as well. Would definitely recommend. They have pretty good prices on stuff , like the layout in and out by 30 mins , wish they had frozen chicken breast? Unless can't see them . Best thing they have a new weight , price machine for veggies and fruits , takes the guessing out of it .

There isn't as much prepared food as I'ed hope there be, as a visitor, I wanted to eat something quick like a sandwich or some other prepared foods, but they do not sell any here, a standard supermarket with decent prices. The prices for a few items were good and the specials were nice, but overall they didn't any healthy options.nnThe shop itself is clean and a lot of walking space, the staff are nice and easy to talk to for help, there is also tons of parking too. So if you need some food to cook, this is a nice place for that, if you need food right away, then it isn't happening here.
