I’ve been a few times recently and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The Bubba burger for $12 with side was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. It’s definitely a smaller burger, and therefore appropriately priced. I loved the size as it was a burger I could actually finish and not feel uncomfortable after. For my side I had spatzel which was definitely filling. I’ve also enjoyed Groove by Fleisch soft serve. Very creamy and I love the rotating flavours. I recommend picking up a Fleisch box assortment of deli meat and cheese and walking just a few minutes to the park that has a sweeping view of downtown and the river valley. Great picnic idea! They also have a really great selection of craft beers and refreshing beverages.Nice patio space too!
My goodness, what a gem. Like a precious jewel, delicately placed upon a malgimation of shimmering metals, crowning our river valley with a plethora of delicious meats, and fine drink. Very simple, yet welcoming, atmosphere. A mix of leave-me-alone,-I-just-finished-work, and 'come on over, the pretzels are delectable!'. Table staff can read a crowd or person very effectively, creating a specific experience for each individual or group. Prices are very accurate; not bar cheap, not 5 star expensive. Food is fresh, and worldly, who knew the Germans did such a amazing pretzel??? Come one, come all, just head down and enjoy this diamond, in the rough.
Such a wonderful place for a nice lunch! I went there earlier this year & it was fantastic! Their cucumber salad was so crisp, light & refreshing, the currywurst was perfection & the spaetzle poutine had the nicest texture! Everything was well seasoned & very fresh! Their groove pies are also remarkable! I can't wait to go back & try more of the menu!
What food I tried was ok, but over priced. Everything is expensive with no cheaper alternatives. That would be a bit more more acceptable if the place were comfortable, but it's not at all. The chairs are rock hard and the tables are small. The outside patio is bare, but better than nothing. At the very least they should broaden the menu, so that not all items are so pretentious and expensive. They would get a great many more feet in the door that way, and by advertising their ice cream more. Expensive and uncomfortable is not a winning combination.
Everything I have ordered of the menu is delicious. Their German draft beers are really good. The servers are attentive and friendly. Was great to meet one in particular on an extremely busy night and she still took a minute here and there to talk and to help make the evening even more enjoyable. Thank you! Parking: Not a whole lot of parking, and yet worth the time to find a spot and walk a little bit.
Do you guys really have to shutdown a lane of traffic just so you can have a ugly patio on the street looking out onto a gas station? Clogs up traffic during rush hour and no one even uses your patio during the winter.
Food was delicious. Preferred the chili chicken bites and the fried cheese sticks.
I really loved this place. We ordered the sausage plate, the cheese and meat plate, and pretzels. For 2, we were stuffed but I still had one of their ice cream sandwiches and it was delish. With beers and a tip the bill was just over $90 which is on the steep side for lunch for 2.
It was okay. The location was nice, especially the patio. Had a nice view of the road and a bit of downtown. Inside had a nice vibe as well. We and the table beside us asked for menus but we're told to use our phones or they can bring an iPad which defeats the contactless idea. So, used my phone. Personally, I like a menu to hold and scope out the options and be away from my device when at a restaurant. We ordered the breakfast sandwich which was nice to have for dinner. It was good, a little bland but I didn't mind it. The spetzle was not good at all. I ordered the poutine spatzle and it was such a disappointment. It didn't have any curds of cheese, tasted no gravy. Legitimately flavorless. I couldn't even eat it, felt unnecessary to. My friend had the basic spetzle. Bland. Not good. Also, it was just us and 2 other tables but our food took a bit long especially as my friend had the deli sandwich and it was hardly toasted. He did say it was good not great but enjoyed it. The beer menu was great and prices seemed reasonable overall.
Jordan, Katy, and Kim have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to protect their staff, patrons, and anyone else in their restaurant through COVID. Their kindness and friendly neighbour-like charm shows in their service to customers and their community partners alike. If you don’t like their mask or social distancing policy, DON’T come in! It’s that simple. I had an excellent late-night dinner tonight, a donair doner, falafel bites and a delicious local IPA beer. I will DEFINITELY be back for more, since it’s very close to my place Downtown. Cheers and see you all again soon!
