It was a really well decorated club. Drinks were affordable and they have coat and bag check. The only problem for me was the bar guy kept Trying to take my drink. I’m a sipper and it takes me a while to drink. Other than that I really enjoyed my self during Karaoke night. Please invite me back and I will update review. I probably will be back once I come back to Toronto. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The picture is my friend sanging her face off.
Extremely rude and ableist. We were told by members of staff previously that the venue was accessible through the back entrance as the front has stairs however when we arrived they refused us entry when a member of our party uses a scooter. The security guard said yes, just speak with him. He brings out this OLD white man and he was extremely rude basically telling friend that she needs to park her scooter to the side and out of the way AKA in the back corner away from everything and stay unseen. Plus their bathroom doors are too narrow to access with the chair. At the end of the day this venue does not want disabled or fat people in their establishment and it ruined our night.
I have come to this club many times because of the Latin Night on Saturdays. However, the way Latinos we have been treated lately is just awful. Security is very rude. Yesterday, one of our girl friends was doing the line, she lit a cigarette and one of the security guards took her from the arm and took our friend out. We understand is not allowed but that's not the correct way.
I wish I could give this place zero stars. I don’t know what it was, but me and my friend were asked to use a different washroom and when we did, an employee asked us to leave the building with no reason. I think they are either racists or just don’t like women in general. PLEASE GO TO ANY OTHER PLACE ON THE STREET. THERE ARE TONS OF OTHER GOOD PLACES WHERE YOU WILL BE TREATED WELL.
Visiting from NYC and looking for a lovely place to hang out with my gay men friends, but after reading the many negative reviews and the alledge no women policy i am utterly baffled. Is this an LGBTQ+ institution or something else in disguise? Anyway, we will pass. I am sure Toronto has way better to offer that are inclusive.
It was my first time last night and one of my friends was kicked out for "dancing too much" so we had to go to El Convento Rico which was way better. Wish we could get our refunds. Two stars for nice high ceiling vibe most clubs in Toronto are low ceiling which makes it look bigger and more inviting. But drag queens weren't as talented sorry gurls but I respect the hussle. They're sort of in their 40s or 50s and their lipsyncing weren't in sync. Drag queens in Woodys were better and one of them even sings live. And Woodys is free to get in. Security was nice Asian guy though but he went grumpy when I had to ask about how to get our refunds.
Giving this 1 star just because of extremely rude security old ugly guy ! We were waiting the line at Halloween night Saturday 28 Oct ! It was packed , line was insane but we decided to wait almost 1 hour. One sassy twinky approached that old security guy and beg him for enterance without waiting the line , it was happening in front of us ! He said pleaseeeeee daddy let me in , I am begging you … I don’t know what’s their deal but this is unfair and disgusting! Shame on you man . When we asked why you let him go , he said very aggressively wait your turn ! Well sir !!! This one star for you , enjoy it !
Denied entry multiple times. Sober and having a night out. No explanation. Felt very racist. Avoid if you want to feel safe in the village.
Approximately 5 years ago security outed a close friend to me and several members of our group who did not know them in deadlife. Assuming management and and staff had changed since then, we decided to go for Karaoke recently only to find the club had developped a new problem though judging by other reviews, the transphobia persists. The software they use for karaoke is inaccessible, and not all the hosts provide the option of direct request. A couple weeks later, we called in advance to find out if the venue was accessible, and were told that while the bathrooms don’t comply with accessible building standards, there is an alternative entrance that is compatible with some scooters and wheelchairs. Regardless of this, upon arriving, instead of listening to a disabled person advocate for themselves, they spent a lot of time informing them of what they could and couldn’t do as a disabled person which also doesn’t comply with most businesses accommodation protocols. They also haven’t been helpful in their responses from our group which after reading reviews and responses to them, appears to be a pattern of behaviour.
Flash is one of my favourite places on Church Street! The interior is beautiful and clean with an amazing sound system, stage and dance floor! Everyone welcome with reasonable drink prices and friendly staff. My favourite LGBTQ+ event happens there FML Mondays every Monday at 10PM! DJ, Dancing and Drag Shows! Be sure to check out the their weekly roster with special events like karaoke, live music, sing-a-longs, open stages and more!
